1:50 I did interior trim for years (mainly slab door replacement) and I did it alone most of the time. The day I saw a garage door installer running caulk at 100mph, using Windex to smooth out beads and clicking that release two seconds before he hit the end of the bead... oh man. I'd been dumb for years and wasted SO MUCH TIME.

i did not see the back side of the chair rail does it have a lip to fit over the bead board when you first start the video lay out all the tools then materials and maybe an outline of steps to accomplish i like the video however we dont need detail of all the coping and by the way you get too much bounce coping because of lack of a solid service and too much hanging over good job

a couple of things: 1. show us the product your using - brand, where you got them etc. (you could also put an Amazon affiliate link in the description and make some money) 2. You start this video right in the middle of the job, explain the job at hand. really great video besides that. (its never too late to throw some extra details in the video description.)

I’ve only put in wood wainscoting. The wife bought pvc and they’re saying in their instructions to drill pilot holes and use a hammer with finishing nails. They say to specifically not use a nail/brad gun. 😔 Idk, I’m going to do it their way but it’s disheartening seeing it work here but being told by the manufacturer it will crack the pvc.

I used a pin nailer and it worked great. A brad gun may be a bit too large.

Just wanted to say that putting glue behind panels is a bad idea. If you ever wanted to remodel then there is going to be a big glue mess on the drywall. You'll likely need to replace the whole wall. If you use nails on panels you can save big $$$ by continuing to use the same drywall if you (or future homeowners) want to remodel again.
@psuedoeric6 жыл бұрын
I agree, if future remodels are in the horizon. In the near term, the adhesive prevents the individual panels from moving independently from each other. This becomes a VERY apparent issue when caulk and paint are involved with the movement.
@zippitydoowopjoe5 жыл бұрын
Royal molding, the manufacturer of this product, actually recommends that you use construction adhesive to secure the panels. This is also very useful when you're not sure where you are now doing and want to avoid going through a pipe or electrical. The other issue is these beadboard panels are approximately 7 in wide so there will be panels that won't be able to nail into any studs since most are 16 inches on Center. The adhesive solves that problem. If you are going to rip everything down then you may as well start from scratch anyway.
