Great content. Looks like you have some useful planning tools. It would be even more helpful to see a chart with your example that illustrates the sensitivity or impact on ACA subsidy as realized income moves up or down.

This was optimized from the tax perspective only. What was the ACA subsidy with no Roth conversion? What does their tax graph look like if you add in loss of ACA subsidy?

Thank you for the video. This is a very important topic without many videos about. My wife and I will be in a similar situation, with needing to take advantage of the ACA and wanting to fully utilize the lower tax brackets. We will be moving to a new state. How do i find someone like you? It seems hard to find someone who specializes in what you do. Obviously I don’t want to pay more than I need to.

Thank you for the feedback on my video! Regarding your situation, I'd be happy to chat with you to see If I can help or at least give you some ideas about what to do next. Financial advisors can work with clients nationally.

This calculation is based off of the current ACA subsidy that has a linear roll-off limiting cost to 8.5% of MAGI...correct. After 2025, if not extended, there will be a "cliff" at %400 of FPL. As of 2024 for a couple, that limit would be $81,760. There wouldn't be any scenario I can think of where paying the lost-subsidy fee/tax to do an RMD conversion that is tax-efficient. Especially if you're funding early retirement through taxable investments and trying to stay in the 0% capital gains bracket. Am I missing something? Thanks
