Great ideas! Loved the splatter stuff. Can also rub gold foil onto almost dry alcohol ink - you know, if you make an alcohol ink on yupo background. Takes a bit to get a feel for how wet/dry the alcohol ink is, but it’s real pretty.

Loved the video. Learned some things, thank you. You mentioned the Baron being good for handicapped people, like with arthritic hands. Can you tell me please what it is?
@andrealavigne78244 жыл бұрын
Linda, I' m not Laurel, but I can answer your question. The baren is a tool used in printmaking. You use it to rub over the back of the paper when you lay it (the paper) on your inked printing plate or block. It just helps get a smooth transfer of ink to the paper, in that application. I don't know how helpful it would be for people with arthritis. I suppose it would depend on the type & severity of arthritis or other hand/wrist problems. You hold the handle at the top of it, and rub the pad on the bottom over your paper (or, as in Laurel's demonstration, foil). The one I have has a slick-ish bottom pad, so it glides with less friction than, say your bare hand. It basically helps press the paper/foil into whatever you're printing or adhering it to. Hope that makes sense. Anyway, I found a baren on Dick Blick's site: www.dickblick.com/products/blick-economy-baren/. Speedball (printmaking supply company) makes one as well, but it costs almost twice as much. Hope this helps! :)

Duo Paste is designed to be used with your Diecutting machine...it presses without heat. Gives the same quality & consistency as using a Laminator but No Heat!

with your stencil technique you were left with a beautiful negative foil. How can you use that? I also got Pebeo guilding wax in gold--they have other colors. I've put it on die cuts, centers of flowers etc. you can put it on with a unique tool--your finger! It's also used for furniture etc. it has a beautiful guilded finish, and you can go heavy make it solid gold or just accented like an embossed accent.

This videos shows how I use the negative space! kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6G9Xnh-l7dkrq8 I'll have to check out the gilding wax you mentioned! Thanks!!!

Your watercolored florals are gorgeous! Do you have tutorials on painting with watercolors? Also, did you paint with alcohol inks? All I know to do with them is blob them down and blow on them to move them around. I realize your backgrounds weren't the point of this video, but they were stunning.
@LaurelBeard3 жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks! I have a few watercoloring vidoes here on this channel, but my audience doesn't take to them well. I am working on some videos on another platform, beginner style videos, which should be ready pretty soon! Oh and alcohol inks... I just squirt and blow.... LOL! No painting. Search my channel for alcohol inks. You'll see. Not hard at all.
