I appreciate your honest and straightforward content. I keep coming back for that reason. I have been finding Dawn Ultra Powerwash DIsh Spray to be the most effective on the white sides of sneakers. I use it with a large bristle brush with a handle so I get more leverage and can really scrub the surface. I find it is superior to utilizing those white square pads which wear down so quickly - just spray, scrub and wipe afterwards with a cloth. It is also very effective on the bottom soles. Since it is just dish soap you don't have to wear gloves or be in a well vented area. Try it and see for yourself. Thanks again for being you!

I just learned a hard lesson about cleaning shoes. There some shoes (Even athletic shoes) that have paint or material that cannot stand even a few seconds of scalding hot water. One pair can't be redeemed and the other is stained very badly but might be able to be saved. I think I only lost two pairs but I'm gonna be more careful in the future because they were nice shoes, I didn't pay alot for them but they definitely would've sold. I'm not gonna look them up because I don't wanna know anymore lol. Flew to close to the sun with delicate materials.

You can remove the really tough permanent marker with pure acetone. You need to be extra careful, as it will ruin basically anything on a shoe except the rubber sole, but it works like magic.

Using a dry erase marker on permanent marker, then wiping it off immediately with a paper towel or rag works great too. 👍

Goodness, this weekend, I was shopping for sneakers online, saw so many that were filthy which I wouldn’t buy as you can catch foot issues like fungus etc from dirty shoes on the inside, I haven’t sold shoes yet, but really you can catch stuff, thank you for cleaning your shoes before selling

Thank you so much for providing such an Indepth video on the process. I am always concerned about the cleaning process of shoes and what do I need to do to revive a pair for myself or to resell. My thrift stores like to write prices on the bottom of shoes and I did not know what to try to remove them because it embarrassing to cross your leg and realize that everyone can see the marked price on the sole of your shoes. Do you use the same cleaning process if the sole of the shoes are leather? Do you ever use shoe polish and actually polish the shoes? I really need to stop procrastinating and get to trying my hand at reselling because again I will have let a season go by and still have all this stuff sitting here. The only major move other than accumulating inventory I have made is ordering your sizing chart, but wouldn't you know it them my printer went kaput before I got a chance to print them. I finally saved and ordered a new one and it should be here tomorrow, and I can get those printed out and laminated, I already have the support stand for them. You don't use the brown paper for shipping? Just asking because all the plastic and environment, I am so debating how I want to go. Because I know plastic is more protectant during shipping but if it already is a plastic envelope is there a need? What your thoughts on that?

Hi Denise. I use Goo Gone to remove prices on leather bottom shoes. That usually does the trick. I only polish leather shoes whenthey really need it. Some people store their items in polybags and reuse those polybags when an item sells. I haven't done that yet. I find it easier to store and ship in the polybags for efficiency. But maybe in the future. I hope you have the courage to start this year!

I picked up a great pair of Converse low tops. When I went to clean them, I noticed they stink!! You can't put them in washer and the insoles don't come out. What do you do in this case? I can relate. I'm always trying to be aware of costs and make things last longer. I use brown eBay shipping boxes for ground advantage. For small shoes a 12x6x6. They are out of stock right now. Definitely don't quit. There's something going wrong along the pipeline. It could be either of these things: - listing styles or brands that don't have much demand - not enough details and keywords in the titles and descriptions - pictures not clear enough - too low or too high of a price on the listing - not sharing enough or using other selling tools available on the selling platforms And yes, this is part of the process- learning what doesn't work to see more what does work. @@JZaga No worries. If you're still interested in growing a reselling business I suggest you offload that inventory even if it's at a lesser price than you intended. And from this point forward focus on doing a ton of research on the Poshmark app, learning keywords and fashion trends, learning lots of shoe Bolo brands, and getting good at checking comps. Hi. I don't replace laces. I've found a few pair of good quality shoes without laces, posted them, and they sold okay. I do use the disenfecting wipes on all leather. You will have to let nubuck leather dry though. I ship them with the paper inside. I don't clean dirty suede. The most I'll do with suede is go over scuffs with an eraser and brush it out.
