Thank you Bradley, I really appreciate it ❤️ Check this out; when I’ve done these sit down chats from time to time, I’ve come under attack by some who are impatient and say I need to just get to the point and cover content that helps them get better and not waste their time. This being said, I will not stop doing these as I’ve had so many other viewers say they enjoy and appreciate it like yourself. My analytics confirm viewers like me doing this as I’ve had many new viewers subscribe to the channel on these type videos. All I am is a regular guy trying to improve. Along the way, I feel the need to help my fellow Pool players, to also improve. Once again, thank you for watching Bradley and for your support, we are all just trying to get better together. 🤷🏻♂️👍🏻😊👍🏻🎱❤️

Love your channel. I can relate to everything you're doing, including watching the pros play on youtube. I've been back at the game for 7 months now starting when we got our table around Christmas. I'm 62 now and stopped playing when I joined the USMC in my mid-20's. I try to average at least six hours per day (currently SL-7 in 8 & 9 ball, APA). Keep up the great work!

Hey Ron I definitely agree with you it's not just about putting in the hours, a person can put in hours upon hours of training but if they are just throwing balls on the table and shooting their improvement will be very minimal, there are soo many drills out there though, would it be possible for you to share in a video all the drills you did to improve your 9 ball game, would really appreciate it

Thank you Vikraman, here are the main drills I shot that really improved my game. Also, see my 3 part nine ball exercise below where I shoot variations of the Nick Varner nine ball drill. my fave is Neils too... to me the greatest form of the game to improve your game is the Filipino rotation just like neils said in one of his videos
@ronthepoolstudent4 ай бұрын
I agree Derby. I began three years ago with only three balls. I then worked my way up by adding a ball to eventually 11 ball rotation. Now at 11, when I drop back to nine, the game seems so much more easy 👍🏻 ❤️🎱

I've been doing the exact same thing you're talking about here... The drills and LOTS of watching the pro's, Absolutely helps..! Earl, Efren, Shane and Bustamante are some incredible Players! I personally like Alex P the most, just something about his game appeals to me. I also play 9 ball, not putting in near as much time as you are but can still see a lot of improvement in my game... I always felt I was somewhat of a "natural" at pocketing balls, and I understand English pretty well. Where I need the most improvement is speed, I come up short quite often... Judging how much speed the impact of the object ball is going to take off the cue ball can be pretty tough..! Honestly I'm probably a 4 ball player because of my problem with the speed of the ball, but I make some really nice shots Kicks, combo's and carom's. So I know I will get there, but like you said "I want to be there yesterday" LOL... If you don't already watch them Asian women playing 3 cushion, you really should! it's pretty amazing and could help your kick game and getting on the ball when hooked for sure. And Banks matches are really fun to watch as well. I'll be watching your videos and will probably comment a LOT....LOL.
@ronthepoolstudent2 жыл бұрын
I look forward to comments and questions so no worries there. I’ll have to check out the Asian woman like you suggested. I’ve always known they are highly skilled and have some of the best strokes. It’s amazing how accurate they can be and their control of the cue ball is fun to watch.
@2869may2 жыл бұрын
@@ronthepoolstudent Right on..! Yes, it's very interesting for someone who love cue sports, and some of the shots they make are nothing short of amazing..! I think you will enjoy it, with the passion you have for the game.

I started as a 3 in apa. I play league and still not consistently pot balls. I don’t own a table. I have to drive 20 minutes to a decent table. So I practice just potting balls. I’ll pick up a drill and learn position play is what I need. And need to take the drive to do drills. Thanks for the drillw

Hi Ron, great videos its inspiring for me . I completely understand the need for drills. I am working on my stroke now and am wondering how many hours it took you to get your stroke to where you were comfortable with it ?
@ronthepoolstudent2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mel, I only now found your comment so sorry for that as KZbin has a glitch in that comments aren’t always moved over to the actual video commented on. As for your question, I’d say it took me four to six months to somewhat nail down a decent stroke without jabbing. It’s still a work in progress at now 506 days in. In fact, my next video I’m publishing tomorrow will be covering two stroke issues and what to do to correct them. Once again, sorry to not answer till now which bugs me. Thanks for watching and commenting bud 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I agree with most of what you mention and have much of the same experiences and observations about efficiently improving my game. But some beginners may misunderstand that 6 to 8 hours per day of drills and tons of videos on top of that is required get decent at the game. They may call it quits without even trying by thinking that's necessary. Maybe if your goal is running out 9-ball on a regular basis and you only have 9 months to get up to that level. I'm a relative beginner and my experience is 6 to 8 hours per week is getting me noticeable improvements resulting in having good enjoyable league games. Sure your high level of commitment should result in significantly improved play, but it's not necessary to be able to have a good time enjoying the game in leagues. Just want to clarify that for those new to the game.
@ronthepoolstudent2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that take F Anderso. It’s good timing that you have mentioned this as I am about to put out a video explaining where I’m at after 191 days and what I’ve actually been doing during these last 60. The goal has not only been to take my game to that higher level, it’s now about doing this with the least amount of table time possible. “Structured practice with purpose”. I’ve felt the need to share this with those players seeking to also improve…there is a way to take ones game to new heights without herculean effort.

@@ernestodelao1601 thanks Ernest, I would just say fit in your table time with quality. I call this practicing with purpose. Focus on your fundamentals and nail down your stroke and make sure it’s smooth and straight. From there, include those shots and position play situations that give you trouble. This will be the quickest way to improve. Good luck and thanks for watching and for commenting 🍀👍🏻
