How To Rack A Van: Gardening and Lawn Care Tool Set Up 2021: Vauxhall Vivaro: Van Racking Ideas

Follow along as The Country Cottage Gardener shows how I racked out my Vaxhall Vivaro lwb van for my 2021 gardening and lawn care works. I'll show how I made the racking, raised floor and made mounting points for petrol and hand tools. I will also show how I load and unload petrol push mower as well as a lawn tractor ride on mower using ramps. Hopefully this video will give you some ideas how to rack your van and store your tools whilst in transit.

I desperately miss my grandfather, he would have been proud of Charlie and I. He was also self-employed but as a butcher..still engrained the work ethic. I will always remember he would always wear a shirt and tie and a flat cap to do DIY. Building a shed in his Sunday best 🤣

First ........ Will be a great setup for the coming seasons, the floating floor is something I semi incorporated in my van but as it's small I only done the 2 sides.

Yes the other van was a mwb and this is a long wheel base. It is slightly taller too.

Hi, great vid. How did you secure them U brackets for hedge trimmer to the plywood lining? I want to attached hooks to my ply lined van but can’t find any info on which screws/plugs to use! Thanks

I took the ply off the side. Drilled though and screwed blocks of wood behind the ply. I then screwed the hooks though the ply into the blocks.

Hi Chris that’s looks good how long did that take you? You should be able to work better out of that van your other van wasn’t racked. Hi pal. Sorry I lot a bit of the recording as my SD card decided to formate. The other van was so nice I was always worried about scratching it with tools/materials or waste. It was always that little bit too small. Plus I drive down lots of county lanes which have poor roads. I wouldn't mind so much with this van. Plus buying a older van am saving nearly £300 per month in payments. The racking only took one and half days and half a day to fettle and fix the rack. Thanks for following this year. Is the a new van? Thinking you've gone bigger? I've just upgraded my Lwb Vito for a Lwb Transit Custom. I've lost a side door which is a pain as can't reach everything now. I'm thinking of a box which pulls out on these long runners through the side door. And then storage on top of that.

Hi pal. I had a new Citroen dispatch so in a way it's a down grade but this is bigger, am saving nearly £300 month and won't worry if I knock or dent the inside with tools. Plus the extra space and better roof rack will make loads difference. I was going to do a draw in that middle space but decided not to as I still have loads racking free.

@@greenapples5887 I can do both but I kinda do half and half. I ride up to get the front in, put the break on, get off and push it in the rest of the way. Prefer doing it that way so I don't bash my head 🤣

@@TheCountryCottageGardener pros and cons to each mate. I use a small tipper with a big tool safe for all the hand tools and all machinery is well chained on when it’s not being used during the day. Takes seconds to chain stuff. Getting machinery wet isn’t an issue as it gets wet when used. Pros are it’s obvious nothing of value is left on van overnight so no issue with attempted break ins either at night or during the working day. We all work differently though so it’s a case of finding out what works for you.
