Looking forward to you scarifying the lawn in the next instalment Lee. My next project, You have a great teaching style and explain the process step by step, you often remind me of the late great Geoff Hamilton;; practical, down to earth, hugely knowledgable and full of common sense. When I first saw it I thought it was due like I have in my vegetable garden. I've probably been looking at Angelika all my life and misidentifying it. Thank you for sharing with us. How is the bonsai doing? I will be pulling out a lot of mint and milk weed plants from my front garden this week. Time to divide up some plants and share them with others too. Have a lovely week.

Curved is ergonomically correct for that particular use. You can use it up against the side of a curb or stone edging. And again you can use it to create a new straight edge, clean Edge between garden and grass.

Hi lee your spot on about the dec gravel, once contaminated with soil it's a nightmare to clean . Even when you go to merchants to replace them say you need half a tonne off golden flint you've got to get a tonne cos they don't sell it in loose and the builders bags are expensive and by time you buy 12 bags there about same price as a tonne bag .

Lovely little garden that, and you really brought it back to life. Excellent work. I've heard other gardeners saying they don't understand using a long-reach to do small shrubs/bushes, but I do it and it makes perfect sense to me - you can see the whole shape, all the time you're cutting. I notice you seem to be using the face-mask more these days, any particular reason?

Lee.. nothing to do with this post.. but I wanted to just say that I have been unable to work for the last week, 10 days because I did something really stupid.. in all senses of the word.. was working at a garden, simple weed removal around a pond.. I bent down and felt a sudden sharp pain in my right eye.. I had managed to poke myself with some innocent looking "palm" type plant.. I had taken my long distance glasses of to enable me to see better and paid the price. I was terrified and in pain. I tried to call my wife but no reply.. so elected to drive the ( luckily ) short distance to the Royal Preston Hospital but then I soon realised that I couldn't see to drive.. so I pulled up.. and by some amazing coincidence a doctor from Glasgow who was on his way to see his 95 year old mother in a village near Preston pulled up and said he had seen me in distress and did I need a visit to A& E.. Thank God for him.. I was seen.. and treated.. my eye was deeply lacerated but has since recovered.. Luckily the pain has almost gone and the blurred vision is recovering.. Be careful out there.. feeling blessed on this occasion..

Bloody nice job done mate! Just wondering about your strimming, ive been attempting to do the same with my little 24cc Straight shaft Makita, but the darned thing cuts out when on its side for a bit too long - is that a mechanical issue or are certain engines designed to work at all angles i.e. Hedge trimmer engines? All the best!
