Amen to number 2 with time routines. Lucky would sometimes get upset by going off daylight savings! And if you forgot any part of his morning ritual he was always happy to remind you!

We have a beagle mix puppy who is a clingy, neurotic bundle of energy! She is very sweet and we love her but I do not recommend a beagle or beagle mix for older people unless you have a lot of youthful energy…we are older and still work full time-we are couch potatoes after work and I feel like she may have been better off in a home with a few kids who love to play with dogs!

I want another Beagle so badly, but I'm too old. I've had Beagles since I was 12 years old, and now I'm 77. Way too old. All of my Beagles lived between 14 and 15 years. I can't stand of the thought of passing on and leaving a Beagle behind.

My 1 1/2 yr old beagle will stay in our backyard sniffing for hours. Snorting/howling at scents. Since it's fenced in, there's no worries but she's VERY tired after an afternoon of tracking in the backyard.
