On this video I'll be showing you how i raise brine shrimp to adults to feed to my fish . We'll be covering hatchers, salt mix, and what foods I feed my shrimp to get them to grow quickly .

What I find so cool and so engaging about Mark is his attitude toward life. I was so inspired by this video I recently remember I had a vile of brine cysts sitting in the fridge for the last 4-5 years grabbed a shot glass some salt water from the reef and a old halogen lamp. Sure enough little buggers swimming around. no air. I seeded some into the refugium which has a bunch of other pods in there some quite big under magnification. Really a wonderful and insightful video sir !

Put the little tank in my boys room next morning they had been knocked all over the floor... 🙄🤣 I have fish tanks anyway and had always fancied hatching my own and feeding live food so I bought a puch of brine shrimp eggs on amazon, hatched a million eggs, fed majority but I want to raise a few for the kids in a little 14 litre tank. One batch every 3-6 days and havent been able to get past the Nauplii stage. When they start to die off i feed as many as i can get out to the fish and restart. I'm using two glass flower vases that are rounded, no corners. Temps vary, 70-81, heat pad. Mini air pump working, had it with an air stone, it was going a fair bit. Just now removed the stone and tied two loose knots. Now at a constant stream of bubbles with small gaps between, they follow single file. No issues hatching. After 3 or so days remove eggshells. Day two/three start sprinkling in a tiny bit of powder from Algae thins by top fin. Has wheat flour, spirulina, yeast and other additives. Going to try switching to straight spirulina powder now, but this food has had them last the longest. Some natural light, mostly a regular bulb thats lighting up the room. Keep the eggs in the freezer and do the 1 to 2 TBSPs of salt per vase. Just ordered a sponge filter to put on the end of it. When I think they need a water change i will switch to the other vase. I account for salt I did or did not wipe off from the sides when adding more. Add a half turkey baster of my aquarium water as well so that there are bacteria. (Am now trying it). And try to keep a similar temp when moving. Ideas? Thanks all x

Well, that's what i wanted ti see, thank you very much for explaining this to us and espwcially to me, it was always easy to hatch them and to feed fish day or two but problem was to keep them alive longer then 5-6 days, i did it only once and with obly one single shrimp alive for 5 weeks it grow up to 13-14mm long and was vwry interesting to watch it in ball aquarium swimming around.... But id end up like all others before him at the end...

Hi Mark, i followed this video to the T and afraid after a week, my bbs havent grown at all and from a few thousand, only got a few that have survived, salinity checks out as per your recommendation, separate tank with air filter etc, any idea what may have gone wrong?
