I have a question, I want to pursue a career in digital marketing, about to take a specialisation as a marketing strategist and would like to work in an agency and also on my project in my free time. I have one question that keeps haunting me, maybe it could also be a video concept for you: Should internet marketers learn how to code ? Are you a coder yourself and did you see it as essential in your career? Thank you for the deep knowledge, you don't often release videos but when you do, they are always great :)

That's a good question! I am NOT a coder and very basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and some PHP. The good news is that the "no code" movement has made things a lot easier. I would recommend learning some basic HTML and CSS just in case, but it's not mandatory. I would prioritize studying human behavior, psychology, and persuasion over coding if you're serious about marketing

It's because lately I struggled a lot with my ecommerce store having issues, it made me become crazy and wished I could code without paying again someone to fix the mess! On-page seo can also become easily technical and difficult for a non techy like me. I also have a limited knowledge of UX, CRO, AB testing for the moment, it's the psychological, persuasion aspects you mentionned, applied to online marketing I guess.I know that without coding it is difficult to optimize everything, how are you dealing with all these aspects without coding knowledge ? The last thing is that I think all the time "if only I could automate this and this and this..." obivously you save A LOT of time if you know coding, it's why I asked you the question, but I guess you have a big team handling these aspects for you!

Hi Nathan. Thanks for all the advice. I have a question, if I may ask. Is phantom link building a better approach than the traditional link building? As in if all the backlinks (1 strong + 8to10 quality links) are pointing to your "Link worthy page" will that be any less effective than creating a tier based approach as suggested in PLB? You can drive results both ways, but the value of PLB is that you're strengthening your links. The reason why this is important is because most pages you acquire links on have very little authority. Of course, you're getting some authority from the overall site strength, but you also need authority on the page level to get the most out of your links

Hi Nathan, excellent video as always.. I have one question pls about domains you mention, i have a website that is in top 3 for very competitive keyword, the only think i need for now is backlinks. I also have 4 domains of the same niche, where not rank well or at all but are old domains ( 6-7 years old) What is better to do? 1. Build the 4 websites with seo in mind and send backlinks to my main site that i want to rank #1 or 2. redirect the 4 sites to the main site with 301 redirect? Of course the 1st option is time consuming , the second is really easy what you suggest, i would really appreciate an answer THanks!!

Thanks for this amazing tips, Nathan. You mentioned about expired domains link building tactics where admin acquires a bunch of expired domain to do either 301 redirects or build a PBN site. What about leaving footprints? Don't you think, Google bots will identify the owner details of expired domains and likely to get penalised once its find that owner of all domains is same. What is your expired domain technique or a process without leaving footprints?

Thanks for the comment Ravi. For PBNs, yes, that would leave a big footprint. That's why you need to create different registrar and hosting accounts with unique information for them. As far as redirects, I make it obvious that I own the domains because I'm going to keep the redirects active long-term. Redirects are a normal internet activity. So as long as you follow the criteria for vetting them, you should be fine. And worse case scenario? You can remove the redirect.

I am a bit confused about the merger technique, let's say I bought a domain name "BestProteinShakes.com" and it has some amazing backlinks from CNN, BBC, UStoday, Wikipedia, etc. So I want to redirect this domain to my webiste that is "Best Prepaid Cards" and Now what should I do?
