Yeah, it was hard enough to get enough berries for this back when we could go out all the time. Now I cycle through buddies in the evening and I stop when my number of berries gets down to a minimum number that I've set for myself. And when I do go out, I do every field research I can find that gives any berries of any kind.

Double hearts can be ground faster then you mentioned . Different types of battles all give you points, so in half an hour, you can battle a gym, battle a friend, battle a rocket stop and battle a team leader, that gives your 4 points. I’ve been able to get double heart status in under 2 hours. Also, spinning a new stop when the buddy is excited earns 2 hearts, which cuts the new stops you have to find in half.

Thanks for the tips. Another thing to note; when battling the team leader, the buddy doesn't actually have to see any battle time at all. It just needs to be in the battle party :)

Do you actually have to complete a battle when battling the team leaders? Or can you just attack a few times and back out as demonstrated in the video? I tried battling with a few attacks like in the video but never get the hearts. I noticed though that if I complete the battle, I do get the heart. A response would be great as it would save a lot of time if I don't have to actually finish the battles.

you're reading the wrong part, all pokemon no matter what they are, only require 2km per heart, what you are reading is the distance required to earn a candy which when excited will half so 5km becomes 2.5km per candy.

Nice Video! Another tip is : when your buddy finds a gift, dont open it. switch to your other (at least super) buddies and they will have a gift too. So you can stack gifts and get multiple bonus hearts for your buddies and some berries aswell

Buddys just need to be in your team in a battle, they don’t actually have to be used. Also each different type of battle gives you a point within a 30 min cooldown, so you can get a point from: trainer, rocket, raid, gym, and team leader all within the same half hour.

What he didn't mention is you get a pt for battling your buddy and there r 4 or 5 different ways to battle and each one counts separate. 1. Battle in raid, 2. Battle in go battle league, 3. Battle in a gym, 4. Battle vs a friend or cpu trainer, its early and i can't think bof the 5th way but I think there is one. You can get a pt for each type of battle which shortens the time it takes to get super excited

The system has changed now, you can no longer get hearts for feeding if your buddy is already on the map. Unfortunately we have to wait the whole three hours to get the next heart :(

This is a very important bit of info and extremely useful : the pokestops has to be new to your buddy... In other words it doesn't have to be new to the player. As long as it is the first time you bring said buddy to the new location.

U don’t have to tap a few times on the screen with the team leaders to count a heart (I found out even when it lags and you can’t get in there will be a quit button and that works too)so basically I can spam the quit button spot as you get in the leader battle

Great video, but like others have mentioned, to get the battle heart, you dont need to use the pokemon at all, just needs to be in the lineup. So that makes it just a tiny sliver more efficient as you can skip the switching,

I’ve been doing this for a while but I adjusted it since I’m running out of berries. I do 21 Pokémon. My last becomes the first the next day. So I walk and berry 2 pokemon fully. The other 19 get whatever berries and battles I can give. But right now, most just get a snapshot and play - 2 hearts. It’s better than nothing.

personally I'm sticking with a "main buddy" so far, I've maxed a Lucario, Fraxure, Metagross and working on a Togekiss my standard is "bleed them for candies so I can max their CP" (all are 100IVs), rather than actually being useful for PVPing

I've started this game October 1 last month and caught a 3-Star Meltan 12 days ago that I have been using as my buddy since then. I plan on eventually evolving it into Melmetal after I obtain the 800 Candies needed for both this game and my Let's Go Pikachu. excellently explained with the point system scenerio for excited mode achievement. I remember Trainer tips referred to them as emotion points when he released his video on it over 6 moths back shortly after the buddy system was released Great explanation and tactic though man!

i created a tag name called "0" . i put 6 i need best budy, and all day i change find with 0 in name to fast met. later i will brush with toe and when it go to smile i take a photo and i dont need him smile slow, i can throw fruits... next step: i go to fight with masters. yellow and i change.fast.with 0 in name space to find fast, put my actual budy and go to fight... i fight with hand in side button to quit... one or two clicks in screen and go out. (ps: you dont need kick with your budy, but let him in team fight) when you go out came animation, you can skip pressing BACK button of your smartphone if it has in screen. later 3 times i change and do it first time to all 6. later you will change only for fruits... or you can spin your smartphone inside sock... to me 10 minutes spinning and shaking give 1km +- (by walking 1km = 15 min (my reffers) shaking to walk 6km to win more 3 hearts... and it you received 9 hearts at day with spinning inside socks 😅 or 10 if you can receive gift (but you cant receive from all budies you change at same day)

berries are a problem for me. I've found it best if I work on 3 pokemon at a time and get 7 hearts a day. I skip the two extra give ur buddy a treat hearts and spend 9 berries a day right now and gain 7x3 hearts for my 3 primary pokemon (a 100% sableye, a 100% gible and a 100% larvitar)

If you get your buddy to excited and *then* visit a new stop, you'll get both of those hearts at the same time. I save those new stops for when my buddy is excited.

Do you decide yourself if the pokemon should have a cp boost? Because then what is the point of becoming best buddies with for instance an azumarill, that goes over 1500 cp?

Sometimes when it is 2/3 full bar, you only need to feed one berry to get another heart. But it's difficult to do.

I’ll buy a daily poffin .... an unmentioned use for your buddy is helping in grinding. On a recent meltran box, my buddy second chance ‘ caught 10 of the 60 saving me time and berries. I’m superstitious, my shiny Shinx seems to out perform all other buddies - any data out there?

I get all 24 hearts every day. I hatched my favorite Pokémon Lucario so that’s the only buddy I ever care about 😏
