4 years later and you’re still teaching man :) I’ve become so used to knowing where to draw breath at this point it was hard to believe i really should learn more breath control but you taught me a technique i like now thank you! And it really does make a huge difference, not in “having breath” but sometimes having ENOUGH breathe late in a verse. Sometimes you still need a lot in the tank halfway through one of those high energy verses, I yell sometimes so i was struggling there. I really appreciate all the talking and little details you was willing to teach. I learned A LOT from your vowel segment i never thought of it that way.

How Classical Music singers control breathing includes using the diaphram, using the throat and using the mouth- and, of course, posture. Controlling tension also helps. Nancy Wilson can sing wicked loud because she uses an operatic mouth opening and uses her diaphram hard. Her thing is to project. One can use these techniques to hold notes and stretch out phrases. To perform or listen to very long singing without taking a breath is not only impressive to the audience, but a singer who can do finds he or she is more relaxed at the end. Opera singers, soloists, choristers and rock and folk singers. Crosby, Stills and Nash's song "Carry On" and The Beach Boys used this technique in many of their recordings and performances. Some famous Rappers now do it, but not many. Summing up, if you ain't got the techniques and the discipline to do it, you ain't going nowhere. (PS: There is an Indian technique for singing and instrumental playing called "circular breathing" which jazz musicians like the late Paul Desmond, the late Miles Davis, Paul Horn and Kenny G use. Its also used in Oratory.)

Really good facts. The only advice I would give to other rappers that’s different is don’t write down your breathing marks. You should be able to have good breath control always and be able to fit breathes in-between any word. It should be second hand nature, not something you have to write in to remember. Very important for free styling

Hey ColeMize, you're videos are very instructive and I can tell i'm getting better just from practicing the things you explain. However I am having trouble controlling the pitch of my voice, I was wondering if you could do a video comparing pitch in regular talking compared to rapping and compared to singing and controlling that.
