I have Yard Works YW2510 trimmer , put a new head on it but didn't exactly know how to wind the string onto it, found a few videos but yours is the only one that explains it clearly ,also you happen to have the exact same head on your trimmer as mine. well done my friend.

With Everything positive said below in mind i could just say, - Very well done indeed!. No one else here on You tube managed to make a video that actually showed the "very process" of changing the trimmer line like you did(Somewhat embarrassed really), but after seeing this one i am Proud😇😄. Well done

A very well executed video. Easy to understand and follow. You certainly have the gift of teaching, and conveying the information to us in the you tube classroom. Thank you, and all the best from New Rochelle N.Y.

the bump head with bolt through it at video 1.29 . can you get replacement for this . I have ordered bump head bolt replacements for my curved head strimmer and when they come they are different with silver caps on the end instead of the bolt comes out of the housing, and they normally are cheap plastic heads. Thanks for your time and informative video

I don't have a homelite mines a sovereign which I believe could be the same but named different as I'm in the UK but it has the exact same string head , I need to practice putting the line in cos I've never had a petrol strimmer before and I think I did it too tight cos it twisted up and wouldn't come out when I bumped it . I'm still learning how to use the machine it's a beast
@shanesmaineshop Жыл бұрын
Yeah they can be tricky, and if you wind it too tight it certainly can get tangled and not come out. I hope this video helps. Good luck and thank you for taking the time to comment

Wow, best video on You Tube for this frustrating chore! Thanks! I struggle with this only every time I have to reload. My string usually doesn’t feed after I reloaded. I’m guessing I must have it wound too tight? Also, I never seem to get the string to release from the spool clips. Must be a trick I’m missing?
@shanesmaineshop2 жыл бұрын
I am not sure about the issues you’re having as far as having the string release, but I appreciate you commenting and I’m glad you like the video.

Hi thx for the vid, so a one stringer would not have the divider on the spool.?
@shanesmaineshop Жыл бұрын
Yes most one stringers do not have a divider it’s just one area to spool up the string. Thanks for the question.

Some of them are but I don’t know if they all are probably not, depends on the model I would guess

I have a straight shaft. However the cap on the end won't come off, i can turn it, but it won't come off, not sure if I've stripped the thread. Any tips? Cheers Adam
@shanesmaineshop2 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to say, maybe it is stripped. Wish I could help more but I am not sure what the issue is. The only thing I can think of is are you pushing in on it as you try to turn it?

How does a weet trimmer start by it'self when it's cold? Unhook the spark plug? Even if it did start, what do you do? WIl it attack a person? If my weed eater started by itself, I would applaud it. I would step back and applaud it.

This was a little hard for me to watch tbh, it kind of feels like one of those tutorials where the teacher is still learning themselves! but anyway, I'm glad it helped some people 😊 .. I would like to ad that it's best (and correct) to start with two exactly even amounts of line (5 to 6 feet each) so that you dont have an uneven amount of line left on one side when you get to the end of the spool and a bunch of wasted line, and an uneven weighted head! and just wind both sides at once, it's not hard! Cheers all

The way you put the line in is wrong in my opinion. The holes go all the way through to the other side so you can wrap it up at the same time and it does go in the opposite direction lol but everything else is perfect bud
@shanesmaineshop Жыл бұрын
Everyone’s entitled to their opinion and of course there’s always more than one way to do things. I will say this is the way it’s always been done and it works perfectly so at this point I’m not going to change it. Thank you for taking the time to Watch the video and comment.

Not all spools have the hole going all the way though, this model dose not. This video dose it spot on.
