Just a quick thank you! It didnt work the first 5-6 times so I was depressed. i watched the video one more time tonight (after watching it 7 times in the last 3 days). Tonight it worked on the 1st attempt and I dont know why it didnt the other times. I heard it click and smiled with fingers crossed and laughed out loud when I heard the locks go up and down. The process below worked great for me with both keys. They both now work completely - Thank you Programming a new Key(s) Replacing a missing master key is quite expensive from Land Rover, try not to get sucked into the extra cost of "Dealer coding" You can do this yourself in 2 minutes by following the simple process below. 1) Get in and close all doors. Turn ignition on and off quickly and remove the key (all within about 5 seconds). 2) Within 30 seconds of turning the ignition off, while holding down the "unlock" button, press the "lock" button three times. Release the "unlock" button. (You may or may not get the confirmation from the door locks.) Holding the key at your head level provides best results as the key sensor is in the side window pillar. 3) Repeat for each key you want to initialize within 30 seconds after the last one you initialized (if you have more). 4) Right after doing the last key, quickly put the key back in the ignition and turn it on/off again to finalize.

Same here, would it work for LR RR SPORT SC 06-09 model? I'd try this, as I had a key fob cut then had programming done. It starts the vehicle, but the lock/unlock doesnt work. I figured there was additional programming needed since LRs are intentionally complicated by design lol. I am excited to try this, and I'd return letting you know should it work. Cheers!

This worked a treat on my original flip key. Key in ignition, turned to 2 clicks then back to start (twice), then took key out and held unlock button and clicked lock button twice and the fob started working perfectly. Thanks 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Thanks for the video. It took a minute to get the key to reprogram. I found out that I have that hold down the home bottom until the light on the fob pulsed really quick not when its pulsing slow, then press the lock button three times. Now my key fob works without any issues. Your video help out a lot and saved me money going to the dealer.

@@CP3IGIN Yes, absolutely I can. When you initially hold down the home button the light on the fob will flash slow. Continue to hold down the home button till the light flashes quickly. Once the light stops then you will press the lock button three times. It took me a couple of times till I got. I hope that this help you.

It was still flashing when I pressed the unlock button and you guessed it - still not working. Edit - held the unlock button down 45+seconds maybe 50. Light did stop blinking. There is a little cubby hole in the new key next to the blade mechanism where you can glue tack the transponder in. Also very important never try the key with the transponder in your other hand near the transponder reader on the car. If you remove the key and the transponder is not there it will delete that transponder from the body control module. Needing a reprogram at the dealer. So glue it in first, then get all exited with your new key :) For cutting the key, a 'laser' brand key cutter is needed. All places that do BMW style keys have one. How I know, I learned and payed my way ;)

Hi - what year is your car - there was loom mod for battery drain - also the heater resistor is a prime culprit for battery drain. Air suspension issues often fixed with new compressor - but not always !

2004 Range Rover it's a USA Model. When I turn the car off, I can still hear the electronic on or shutting down, but it takes awhile to shut down. a mechanic said it shouldn't take so long to shut down and that was draining the battery. when I drive the car the battery stays charged for about 35-40 hours, then it's dead.

If you have no key you can programme a blank from a module within the car. Not sure if that module detail/location should be out there, but it's very similar method to the current model, so leave that decision up to you experts....

Very interesting I would be keen to know how I could get a couple of keys cut and reprogram them fully to work as I have inherited one bad key which I need to replace buttons on and would keep as the third key or spare so my wife and I could both have the newer style key. This is great I followed the process to reprogram the key but it still does not work. I put it in the ignition on off press and hold etc. The care then makes the locking sound. Put the key back in the ignition to finish. But then nothing happens the key doesn't work? Any ideas that I might try. so annoying that the key doesnt work. Any ideas that I can try?

I bought a similar key from ebay, managed to sync it perfectly. I then had the blade cut and moved the transponder to the new key. When I unlock the car manually from outside, key works fine. When I put in the ignition, it does let me turn the key. Locksmith who cut the blade are telling me that the blade is too short for the ignition. Has anyone had similar problem. I would be grateful if someone can help.

Hi - do you have a multimeter ? it may be the battery is not at full voltage - we do have batteries that sometimes are not giving the full 1.5V. The fault will clear itself when a good battery is fitted.

Jeff you must have a massive driveway to manage to loose 2 keys on your drive ! The key is several parts - the mechanical "blade" and you need this for your ignition barrel and if you do not have one to copy then you will need new barrels - you could get away with just the ignition barrel. You could get Land Rover to program a new remote to get door entry. This method on this video only works if you have the ignition key which i guess you not longer have right ?

I’m having trouble syncing my key back to my car, the car thinks a door is open, I’ve been spraying WD40 in all the door mechanisms, as I can tell as the interior light is still on, but doesn’t when the boot opens and shuts. I’ve not got any definitive answer or solutions, please can you advise? I’m at my wits end having to manually lock the car with the key in drivers door, more annoying when it’s raining and I’m fumbling with the lock.

this sounds like the central locking actuator has failed. Its a little motor / solenoid that moves the mechanism to be unlocked. Maybe you need PN CWC500040
