I learned a ton. I don't have my mc license or a bike yet, but this will definitely help me choose a nice bike for my budget. Thanks :)

Same here, and what a coincidence that I'm set on getting a zx-4rr as my first street bike. I have a bunch of bike dyno charts overlayed for comparison (stock, to make it simple) and the [flashed ofc] zx-4rr is significantly slower than all of them before 10k rpms, even a ninja 400. But I see that as a good advantage to learn how to ride. At ~12k RPM to max, it's on par with the 650ish cc twin cylinders like the R7, MT-07, SV 650, and significantly more than a Ninja 650. Price point kinda sucks, but everything else tells me it's a great starting bike I'll want to keep a long time and I see a lot of people having a blast on it

Smoothing 5 can hide weird peak blips...but it also (and more importantly) can hide bad tuning, worn plugs, etc.. set it to 3 and a good built and tuned engine won't have odd spikes anyway. Also- CF should be set to SAE.

thanks for the tips I use STD because my dyno reads a little lower than average. No matter how many times I explain you cant compare one dyno to another for numbers , having lower numbers hurts my business I also never , except for baslines, show a run by itself So if my baseline is in STD and my post tuning runs are in STD the comparison is totally valid I find that smoothing 3 will post a bigger number for peaks when it counts the little spikes

This was very interesting, it would be cool to see the MT09 graph compared to the MT10, just to see where exactly those two bikes differ especially in torque delivery. I always hear they’re about the same up until much later in the rev range, makes me wonder if upgrading to the 10 is worth the squeeze.

I own them both, (latest models). MT-10 is far superior. Additionally, a motorbike is not only an engine but many other factors. MT-10 is an R1 derived model. That makes it super fast right out of the box.

Wondering about calibration, tire slip, etc...

There is no way to calibrate the hp reading on a dyno. Tire slip is very obvious when it happens.
