It's so stupid how the US hasn't switched over to the Metric System yet. It is so much more efficient, not to mention easier to learn.
@garypautard10692 жыл бұрын
I saw a video once in which a NASA scientist used a road speed limit sign as an example . To change MPH to KPH would mean a survey then a new sign built to European rules and roadworks to fit it. In short the cost would be enormous , besides the US can adapt to metric but for most construction materials imperial is liked.

@@garypautard1069 We were going to start swithing in the '70s. In that amount of time we could have gotten most of the conversion done already.

Educational video and yet it that has a flaw - your ruler is graded in cm - but it says mm on it. People needing this video are likely to be confused by this.

It gets so confusing what to use. Why isn't the Metric system taught here in the states?

cuz industry is stubborn. "it would be to expensive to change all machinery..." even though manufacturing is a tiny part of the US economy anyway...
@johnmccloud10544 жыл бұрын
Vladimir Lovato not just manufacturing, consider the construction industry as well. That’s a huge part of our economy and everything we do in construction (unless it’s for international aerospace or for the military) is gonna be imperial.
@johnmccloud10544 жыл бұрын
It is in some places, when I was in high school it was taught in science class since it was originally made for the scientific community I believe. One of the few useful things I’ve learned, it’s used rarely but it’s most commonly used in the military or science here in the US.

I saw on another video that your suppost to count the spaces in between the lines and not on the lines is that true?
@Persun_McPersonson Жыл бұрын
You can count the lines as long as you don't count the zero/starting line.
