I read this title as “how to read a sewing pattern with lies” and thought, finally! A video for me. So many patterns seems to be rife with devious inaccuracies. 😅

I'm in corporate education and I would be over the moon to have all of my facilitators & instructors deliver with the patience and clarity that Liesl demonstrates. I've never made any clothing from a pattern, and my first project, I'm tackling a dress pattern from 1949! I'm intimidated, but this video helped me feel so much more at ease!! Glad I found it.

I’ve only sewn by eye and measurements, and I’ve made a lot of clothing and even a prom dress. I have always bought patterns but I’ve been too scared and confused to use them. I found this so helpful thank you

How wonderful such a lovely lady she explained everything step by step and her voice was very kind and through. I could only sew pillows and curtains but now I feel confident to read and measure and start tackeling more easy sewing projects to move up when I have this down pretty good. Thank you so much I now understand alot more basics to sewing thanks to you.I don't know about anybody else but I really didn't want this video to end lol I wanted to see the little dress and bloomers finished 😊 God Bless 🙏💜

Thanks so much for the helpful video! I’ve sown many things that are simple like a circle cape or a hand puppet but I’m trying my first more “intricate” design and picked up this vest pattern and realized that patterns work a lot different to online patterns witch is what I use for my puppet clothing, I very excited now knowing I’m capable and not so intimidated!
