When studying the Bible, I find it helpful to come at it with this premise, the Bible does not contradict itself. If you come across what seems to you as a contradiction, the problem is with your understanding, not the Bible. At that point you turn to logic and reasoning to come to truth, where your understanding doesn't cause you to see a contradiction. To this I like to apply my favorite fictional Detective's advice, "when you have eliminated the Impossible, whatever is left regardless however improbable, must be the truth." Sherlock Holmes.

Thanks for all of the helpful advice brother Bernard. 💙 Yes, reading it quick to get the context and then going back and studying it more thoroughly the second time is a great method that I have found Great Value in using too... and of course also with prayer to ask for wisdom and understanding. 🙏 But sadly, to even get people to read it all the way through the first time is even a challenge nowadays. I've given people the Bible on MP3 player and that seemed to help them out a lot too. 🙌 (I always use the KJV Bible)📖

Thanks! I would also suggest everyone verify and reinforce their own personal understanding and comprehension of Biblical doctrine for themselves.... Never let the preachers and teachers do all the work..... Trust but verify!..... Just because something seems truthful doesn't make it true.... Do you 'believe' in the oneness of God? If so, do you also know exactly how and why it's true Biblically?..... Do you believe in Jesus' name water baptism and understand why Biblically?... Tongues?.... Holiness?..... ANY of it?... WHY (Biblically) do you believe?.... To say it like an old-time preacher "If whatever you got ain't in the Bible, you got noth'n".

Better to ask God for wisdom and understanding so his written word is revealed. Don't get caught up in prophecy until God gives the understanding

Knowing that in America there are over 200 Christian Denominations all preaching and teaching their Doctrines and Standards you would need some help in understanding and now you have All these study tools to make things even more mind boggling because many of these studies are opinions of the writers on how they see it. I always look at how Paul commended the Bereans in Acts 17 and how they Studied the Word Daily whether those things were so. Study the Word, its there
