Thanks for the tutorial; you did an awesome job! Please let us know how to determine the production times of the '60s cleaners and earlier. I would take for granted that the floor polishers of each period would use the se format. I like being able to put a production year to a surface cleaner as to an automobile!

What a legend! So my 170s are 1974 and 1978. Out of interest, if you got one with a 0 year would you have to guess between 1970 and 1980?

I'm pretty sure the Z170 came out in 1971 so if a machine had a zero it would be from 1980. There aren't many Lux machines that span a decade. I think the big twin motor commercial cylinder may be an exception

Incidentally, as far as anyone can tell the Canadian Electrolux serial numbers are only coded with the production year according to the first digit; but not the week. And the series (year) and production number are together in one number. Unfortunately, the Aerus (Electrolux) US serial numbers - in place since 1937 - include a 2-letter series (that no collectors have been able to decode) and a 5-digit production number listed together as the Canadian system.

Steve my electrolux dolphin z2260 as 1-27 00430 for its serial number so does it make 91 and the 27th week

Electrolux Dolphins were not released in 1981 and they were discontinued by 2001, so it has to be 1991. 😃 Week 27.
