Hoover Compact cylinder vacuum cleaners look a smaller version of the Hoover Sensotronic cylinder vacuum cleaners and I like the old Hoover brochure in the 80s with the Hoover turbopower uprights which are favourites from my childhood days and I also like the Hoover Sensotronic and Compact cylinder vacuum cleaners from that style

I love my Oreck! I still use an XL9300 and it works like a dream. The roller is great, it's fantastic on carpets, and I love the fact the bag capacity is over 12 litres!

Damn you’re good! Thanks. You have thoroughly convinced me not to take my Dyson hot cold air multiplier apart! I’ve got the triangle exclamation point error and I’ve reset it numerous times. Any suggestions. Some say the filter is out of place. I bet if I sent it to you if it could be fixed. I’m a sr citizen and I cannot afford dysons repair bills.

I like it! Cool features & colors. Somewhere I read in a catalog description that a Hoover's color scheme was Dameon & Lavender. I wonder if this is the model? I have also seen the S4008 in a catalog in lighter colors named Almond & Honey Beige; so maybe yours was a store exclusive.

Do you happen to know if the official colors were Sun Gold and Ivory like other contemporaneous Hoovers? I have also seen a Freedom in a catalog in a similar color scheme called Almond.

I have this Shark and it is constantly blocking in all the pipes after only a few minutes of cleaning, not to mention hair wrapping itself around the roller. I spend more time fixing it than cleaning the floor 😞

As a child I was *obsessed* with vacuum cleaners. Eventually that obsession switched to tape recorders, and all things hi-fi, but I digress... We had a bunch of mail-order catalogues in the 70s/80s...Littlewoods, Marshall Ward, Great Universal (bit vague on that last one...think it was known as GUS?!). Anyway, twice a year, Spring/Summer, Autumn/Winter, I'd feast on the pages of vacuum cleaners 😂 Goblin was clearly shit, even to me as a 6 year old 😂 Spinney/Spinneytronic was Littlewoods's brand of cheap crap. Rotel was another cheapo brand. The catalogues would always have a big banner announcing "Our Lowest Priced Vacuum!" with weekly payment terms of like 55 pence or something 😄 Typically it would be a Goblin. In those days Goblin were still making "Teasmade" contraptions. Definitely targeting the over-60s with those things 😄 Anyhow, just my rambling memories of cheap vacs...

Is it possible to extend the life of one of these filters by removing it and then gently blowing out the filter with low pressure compressed air? I am a non-smoking, non-pet home so, it's just the dust and dirt in the air...thoughts?
