I have searched videos and websites for weeks trying to find this exact content. Thank you so much. I am 65 and just learning to play. I struggle with remembering the notes but your calm slow teaching for a beginner is spot on. So many videos say beginner and they are not really for true beginners. I subscribed and will check out your app.

Hello, I’m starting to learn piano and this video was super helpful. I’m thankful for your dedication teaching in KZbin. I have been trying so hard to self-teach myself and now it makes way more sense after watching this lesson. I can sing and play violin, but piano is on another level. Thank you for the video and best of luck for the next year!

Excellent!! thanks for this, great breakdown. The 4 rules of ledger lines is golden, great visual. Drill for skill. Like Ringo said- ya know It don't come easy. Need to go through the 'pain' and only then success and acheivement is on the other side. Break on through to the other side.. yeah

Hi! Very curious question: If one is to learn sightreading without starting to memorize the pieces/automatizing the playing, how is one to do this? The only way i can think of is jumping from one easy piece to the next, never staying with one song for a longer period of time. That way your brain allways has to process new notes and patterns each time you sit down to learn. But the downside of this you never learn the finesse of playing songs/more complex songs, with dynamics etc... How to balance this??

Damn, this is interesting and thank you so much for making this video, really insightful. I had like three questions tho being a complete rookie here (for anyone who's reading this and knows it), firstly for key signatures as you mentioned every sharp or flat will be a sharp or flat note depending on it, but does it change or become invalid after every measure, or the change rule only applies if I'm turning a particular note to a sharp or flat? I also assume that key signatures come after a measure bar line (the vertical division). Thanks, Idk if I sound too dumb asking this lmao. And secondly, how does this translate to other instruments like maybe Strings or Woodwinds, Brass, considering some of these come in different scales instead of the standard Cmaj and everything in between. Lastly, you connected two notes via a curved line almost as if it's leading on to the next line, is that legato or what is it lol? Okay thanks for hearing me out whoever read all of this, any help will be appreciated, have a cheerful day!

The video is great. but I take issue that you mix and match tone and semi tone across the video while talking about flat/sharp which will certainly confuse people the minute the read something else that refers to it solely as a semitone as it should. If you were to have those basics, the video is 10/10.

What makes it so hard is the left hand being different if right and left were thensame it would be much easier. Distance between bass + treble clefs is in fact 3 notes: BCD. Distance shown in your vid is that of 13 notes. Ridiculous. For people who are spatially-oriented, this makes it 10x as difficult to learn.
@bobpx7 ай бұрын
no! ledger lines are critical to learn, look at any sheet music, left hand and right hand plays notes beyond the 5 lines. did you see the 4 rules of ledger lines? very logical system.
