Getting in the Word is a discipline, but so very worth it. You're so right, it is like food! Our daily bread we can't live without. Love this video! I heard someone say once, "You don't have to 'feel' close to God to be close to God", and that's always stuck with me. So whether we feel that "fire" or not, we know that He is always with us, he never leaves us nor forsakes us. We can't lean on our feelings because they aren't God.. God is God! :)

Along with other versions to avoid starting with, one translation I would honestly avoid altogether is the Passion Translation. It's not a translation, it's not even a paraphrase like The Message. TPT is written by one author as if the Bible is written by one person, and there's a lot that's added and rewritten. Just as you can't pick and choose what you want to believe from the bible, you can't make God's truth your own truth and take it out of context.

Could you clarify how we need to repent of sin to get to heaven but salvation is through Jesus and not works? A little confused at that part I thought it was through belief in Him and the fruit of our salvation is through good works but not TO get saved. Blessings
