Hi Anne, this is a marvellous video! Thank you so much for giving me an idea of what to start looking for. I wish you could do more on how to read ingredient lists - I found this video to be clear and to the point on what to start looking for when trying to read an inky list. Also thank you for clarifying that the ingredients listed on the front of the bottle or box won't exactly be what's inside and to check the back of the box! I recently purchased Elizabeth Arden Retinol capsules (duty free while I was traveling) and when I look at the ingredient list I see that retinol is listed right at the end of the list. The ingredient you mentioned phenoxyethanol is the very last ingredient on the list - so I'm assuming that the retinol is around the 1% mark? Whatever the case I know it's a very low percentage but I'm enjoying the product because it's gentle and I'm still seeing a good result. I'd love to see more videos - I love that you'll be doing one on retinols as there is so much to learn! ... Also, I'm sick at the moment - I think a combination of jet lag and change in the weather has impacted my immune system and a bug as got to me! I'd love to see a video on taking care of your skin when you're sick. My skin looked great a couple of days ago ... today I feel like a dried up prune!!! Thank you for your awesome videos - I have so many to catch up on and will do today while I'm convalescing! Much love to you Xx

I just checked the capsules and I don´t think that retinol is at 1%. 1% Retinol is actually a pretty strong concentration, and the individual packaging means that there is not much need for preservatives. My assumption is that the phenoxyethanol is at way less than 1% (there is BHT in the formula in the first third of the list, that is a preservative too, so they don´t need to use the phenoxyethanol in maximum allowed concentration), and for that reason the retinol is in a lower concentration as well. It does have a nice mixture of ceramides and peptides though (which, by the way, are listed before the retinol, another clue that the retinol is in a low concentration), so they are non irritating for sure.What else would you like me to cover on the topic of reading the ingredient list? The "sick day skincare"-video is noted!Get better soon!

Fantastic! Thanks so much for this video. I have been so frustrated with how difficult it is to work out % strengths of actives in the past. This info will go a long way to help me.

@DoctorAnne2 жыл бұрын
@@ZahidAli-ve6nr As I said in my answer to your other, similar question under another video: The ingredients to look for are retinoids, Vitamin C and then maybe Hydroquinone (talk to a doctor beforehand), Tranexamic Acid, Alpha-Arbutin, Alpha Hydroxy Acids and Licorice Root Extract. None of them will work if you don't use a good sunscreen daily. And none of them will make wrinkles disappear and the face go much lighter, they are aimed at targeting hyperpigmentation, not general skin pigmentation. And obviously not one serum will do all of that, you might need a combination.

Hi doctor Annie Vitamin C Maine pahle Ek Bar istemal kiya hai vah theek Nahin Hai Uska result bilkul Nahin aaya hai jo sabse Achcha aur Behtar Ho Jiska Koi side effect Na Ho aur chehre ke wrinkle remove ho jaaye aur Chehra white Ho Jaaye bilkul dudh ki tara

@@ZahidAli-ve6nr I recommend you watch my playlist on hyperpigmentation, but, very important: One ingredient will never have a drastic effect, to address hyperpigmentation you need to use a mixture consistently over months to see results. Also, the ones available without prescription will not erase wrinkles and make your face white, you need either invasive treatments or prescriptions for that (and even then this is not a realistic expectation).
