I’m so happy I found your site. I am so new to tarot cards that I am pulling at least one a day to research and write about while also supporting myself in my understanding of the path I am on and so on. Yesterday I pulled the devil card. Honestly, it made me nervous but I pulled a few others to go with it and actually could have just stayed with that one. The devil is my shadow work… my connection to the strength it gives me. I love April fools and it is coming… it is my trickster side and the laughter at myself and those who are aggressive with me. It is the fact that I am again connecting with Kali as a strong mother who laughs at convention… supports those who are hurting and is quite scary but tragedy made me lose that part of myself and bringing it back makes me feel whole again. I see the moon card as the same type of support. Luna… moon… nurturing and cleansing. I have just started learning about crystals and am waiting for the full moon to cleanse them. That is something I’m looking forward to… I am still doing my research to learn the history because I enjoy that sort of thing but reading the cards is reading… that’s a little different than interpreting or being an interpreter. in this case the moon could signify. that she could be responding to something in a very emotional way.... the moon refers to lunar cycles... the unknown, menstrual cycles or things in general that need to be illuminated. I would have happily pulled two additional cards to see what this moon was trying to tell me.

I could see the moon for her question, as meaning it's hidden, meaning it's not meant for her to know yet, and there's meaning behind that because the moon is also what lights our path at night, so it also hides certain things for a time because it's in darkness. That's the way I would have taken the moon card for that type of question.

It’s strange. I have always loved the moon and I have a very hard time seeing the moon card as negative because the moon lights up the night most of the time and we can see in the dark. Also, I love the very beginning of the crescent moon coming back after the new moon because it means new beginnings. Don’t wonderful things happen in the night like wolves howling at the moon? That’s what we think they are doing anyway but maybe that’s the way they sing love songs or just release their pain if they have been enduring a sorrow or a loss. How lovely. Don’t we all want to go out in the night with our lover and enjoy the romantic night sky tigether? I really mean this. I use SIMPLE Marseille Tarot Meanings, something new to me, though it works! (Yes, I could go more in Depth with meanings. I'm just keeping it Simple for myself.) It really depends on the Question & the Position of the Card in the Celtic Cross Spread(s) or any other spreads. This Will & Does have influence on the Meaning(s) of the Card(s). Also what other Suits or Major Arcana Card(s) are in the Spread. Just my Opinion.

So the 3 of Cups reversed from my point of view points to lack of or over-celebration, depending on what makes sense for the question. The questioner doesn't touch the cards. This method works well - it is important to do it this way, but a lot of people will tell you otherwise and say it doesn't matter. Reading for yourself isn't easy, but it's easier when we see that we have control of our reactions and add that to the interpretation.
