1 compressor is good, 2 is more good. One more, I have a Cali76 as pretty much an always on and a Compadre in a switcher. Enables stacking before and after drives.... but running in parallel is the absolute gold for me. Great videos and playing BTW

Ah yes, I love them. I use nothing but Compressors and twelve in a row, yeah it's weird but...I have OCD (Obsessive Compression Disorder).

Since I've bought a compressor I use it for everything. It just does THE magic. I mean, it will not make you a good guitarist. But if you are good enough it will make you sound awesome, and more importantly it will put a smile on your face - and this is what matters really.
@Sandman-cr6zn3 ай бұрын
Btw. I use a Crazy Tube Cirquits Phi v2, it's brilliant and has 3 different comp circuits to use.

Thanks great video ! On my live board I set my cali smooth the most transparent I could get but it’s still compressing and make everything sound more even. But no squash! But in recording or for bass I set it like I need with a lot of compression but without the squash fast attack… more on the sustain and fatness! Very versatile pedal ! ❤
@mustyguitar3 ай бұрын
on live situations, compressor is less needed, so yeah I use a very compressed signal here, but the way to do is your way on live situations. at least for me. thanks!!

Just discovered this channel and am binging a lot of your great videos! If you are looking for video ideas, I'd find a guide very useful on how to set an Echorec style delay for David Gilmour's various delay sounds.

Great video musty, I have the dynacomp on my board and it’s always on !!! However I definitely need to try the stacking 2 of them. Have you ever tried the Boss CS3 ??
@Lander-bo2rq3 ай бұрын
Im not musty but i have tried the cs-3. It is good and very subtle. The effect is almost not there, but it adds a little bit of mids and nice clicky attack. It is a good alternate to the cs-2
@mustyguitar3 ай бұрын
I did, it's a great compressor. works great obviously, maybe a bit too subtle for my taste, I like a bit more attack.

Do you use stacked compression in your signal chain.

Hi Mustafa, I wanted to ask you, I have the yellow comp, what amount of compression do you recommend using? thanks as always. greetings from Argentina
@mustyguitar2 күн бұрын
thank you! I like to use the yellow comp around 1 o'clock. maybe 2-3 o'clock depending on the song.
@Thestripper14 күн бұрын
What's your impression of the yellow Moer compressor? Is it better than the current full size mxr dynacomp? Better than mini dynacomp?
@mustyguitar4 күн бұрын
I like it. It's great that it has a EQ on it too. Definitely better than full size block version dynacomp but mini is probably better.
@RealROCKnROLLA3 ай бұрын
Cali76 is an absolute must have for the clean to semi-clean tones! Though I wanted to ask , why do you increase the dry signal on a heavy compression demo? I thought the whole point was to reduce dry to almost nothing.
@mustyguitar3 ай бұрын
You’re right, that’s what I should’ve done. I just liked it I guess. Rest is up to you :))

Great video and well explained! Keep up! \m/ For 1974 Breathe, try Cali76 with Signature Phase 90, then a little EQ -> delay -> reverb :) you will never find a difference :) 😎

Good comp demo Musty! As always) Recently, I bought an MXR Dyna Comp and am trying to use it as always on. However, when I use it with a Big Muff and overdrive, I get a lot of noise. Do you have this problem?
@mustyguitar3 ай бұрын
It's normal, noise is always there. It will never go away with natural ways. Compression is "compressing" your signal and bringing the highs and lows closer, which means REVEALING the noise you ALREADY HAVE in the chain. You can have noise with only compression and nothing else in the chain. So, it's not a problem, it's normal.
@Answer3i3 ай бұрын
@@mustyguitar Thank you! You confirmed my suspicions:)
@vrab.3 ай бұрын
Is your compression pedal before or after your muff? Maybe try switching to the other side in the chain.
@Answer3i3 ай бұрын
@@vrab. Comp is first pedal. It's not much noise, but noisier than over+muff. And noise increased as much as increased volume. As Musty said, I think it's normal.

MUSTY, Can you make a video showing how David Gilmour uses two different compressor pedals the ibanez 70's compressor, MXR dyna comp, Boss 70's compressor, both compressor pedals are turned ON with the strat tone pot rolled down. The settings of the compressors and the pedal order configurations
