Now in times of the virus - cloud services become more and more important! I personally use the Pcloud service for uploading my private class videos and share files quickly between different platforms - smartphone to PC and vice versa. For the students who send in videos for me to comment this service is also very helpful since it is especially for large file sizes. Sending me higher quality videos will result in better observation and better feedback from my side! I like sustainability and keep monthly costs at a minimum - so it is very nice that Pcloud gives you lifetime storage with only a one-time payment. Basically, you pay one time and have the storage you paid for forever and secured. 10GB is actually free for a lifetime right now - and should be enough for sending me videos! You can check the lifetime storage service out here: partner.pcloud.com/r/21649 Hope this will make it easier for you to send me videos - and it will also be more comfortable for me to watch it! Best wishes Master Ziji

The three curves the curve of the legs, the curve of the abdomen, the curve of the shoulders. You compress and expand them to create the motion. The motion of the arms is delivered by the elbow. There are lots of ways to deliver the power in the tai chi classics the power methods are talked about. The power is derived by understanding that each movement is not one but thousands of steps. And movements are generated by these 1000 steps. It's like having a moment of time standing still or slowing way down where you change the position 100s of times before your strike lands and each part you change is to get maximum economy and power into the strike. People forget that part when they start trying to make fa jin into a vibrational process it is not. It is the compounding of chi.

Hi Sifu Weichhardt, Between thousands of arts, Wudang academy and the Tai he quan by Master chen shiu attracted me. I have done martial arts before, not for the sake of fighting but to become a monk and uphold the balance of spiritual energy. I failed tens of time. Being a part of authentic family matters for me, the roots matters for me. Considering that I got to start from beginning (not exercising for several years) and I live in london, would you think that online courses can help me progress and make a real connection to the academy? I have my memories of different postures, stands , hand & leg work clear. So mentality I am above zero. Would you accept me ? If so, I get the membership online. : )

My question is whether to use fajin when doing tai chi. I have never seen anyone actually do that when executing the tai chi forms, except in kung fu movies it seems like they do it quite a bit as part of their own martial arts routine. I've tried doing it on my own. If there is any downside it is that I sometimes end up feeling depleted of energy instead of feeling like I have gathered a lot of beneficial energy.
@michaelweichhardt4 жыл бұрын
Also other schools use fajin in Taiji... Chen style for example is very known for it. Due to the breathing you gather strength. I wouldn't say you feel depleted afterward... You simple use the energy that is there.
@arlieferguson39904 жыл бұрын
Are there any particular benefits to practicing tai chi with fajin?
@iflotaichi2 жыл бұрын
@@arlieferguson3990 not really any benefit but huge potential for injury if you only half understand it, modern wu dang is an external style of kung fu. Practice with peng is enough.

When a combat athlete, someone who is well above the average in both strength and reflexes, takes on any teacher of any combat style... the athlete will almost always win, and it will usually be a mauling. Normal people, even ones in peak physical shape, cannot match well against someone who was blessed with an excess of physical capability. It doesn't matter if the combat athlete knows MMA, Muay Thai, Wrestling, Jujitsu, or even the oft less respected (but actually quite deadly unless they take gentle care not to plant you on your face as they drop you) Aikido. The athlete is the favorite by virtue of natural gifts -- the contest is, from the beginning, rigged and a scam. The normal person, someone generally skilled at TEACHING more than at mauling dudes, might occasionally win one. But you'd be a fool to ever bet on them, even if they taught MMA champions. And for the record, generally the first thing that happens to an MMA guy in a street fight is that within the first minute they punch harder than they should and break their own hand when the target headbutts the MMA guy's fist to avoid taking a clean punch. MMA guys are used to wearing gloves and have their wrists taped. They have NO IDEA how to actually punch.

@perrypelican94763 жыл бұрын
You keep saying "from the inside". We need much more explanation than to just say that. Instead of showing Complex movements and swords, please just show how to get internal power for a simple push or jab. You didn't mention visualization or how to use meditation or how important relaxing is. I have been trying to relax for awhile and it is so hard. There is always tension in my lower body. For the energy to be effective, I think it has to flow everywhere, I every joint. Is it returning the opponents energy or using only your own energy? I want very badly to learn this because I am convinced that controlled energy flow is great for feeling good, healing, and having inner power. I don't want explosive power now. I want to be able to relax compketely so I can stand in mabu for a long time without pain and feel good I that long time stance. Please give me pointers. You gave me some already but I need more if I want to move on. Thank you for your fantastic motivating videos. I am 70 and healthy. I want to feel good when I am 80 and I know that you know how I can do it. One more time I will say that I don't care right now about explosive power because I have not yet mastered peng. I want to focus on one skill mostly. My goal is to reach a much better level of relaxation before 6 months and am willing to put in as much time as necessary.

Bro' you gotta know this stuff doesn't work in violent combat, c'mon get real!
@cognitivedissonancecamp63264 жыл бұрын
OverSooll, I watched lots of videos online and never believed in fajin until I met a sifu who had cultivated their Qi and the issue of it. They allowed me to hold a 8” think pad and showed a regular hard strike. I felt it. He showed me the same strike with the issue of power and I went sprawling out onto my backside. The one inch punch is issued with power, the techniques here are applicable to a close quarter combat situation. If you shoulder strike someone with issue of power in the chin, they go to sleep.
@OverSooll4 жыл бұрын
@@cognitivedissonancecamp6326 I believe you because I have seen it when I lived in Taiwan, but once you fight for real in full contact, without pre-arranged environment, under pressure and fear to get hit, it doesn't work. You'd better learn boxing or judo if you want to defend yourself.
@cognitivedissonancecamp63264 жыл бұрын
OverSooll You speak of lack of integration. In many internal arts, the technical aspects of issuing power in various ways is separated by the Taoist elements. The element of earth is the first you learn because you need to be able to issue power from your center to build from that to work with element of air, fire, water. When you say that I am at a loss if I go full combat with non-contact technique in issuing power, then you are only correct if I have not integrated it. If I have found my means to issue power in a high stress situation, then the flow is always there, nothing is going to make that flow stop other than my own doubt. When you train with someone for a long time who can issue power, they can demonstrate how non-contact power feels and using element of air to create waves of Qi that have the capacity to move you in space as well as trigger your flinch mechanism deeply in your central nervous system. You mention “fear to get hit” - the first thing a good internal arts master will teach you is the contrast between attention vs intention. When you integrate the contrast, there is no fear, just pure attention to what is in front of you so that your intention is completely free of obstructions.
