Great machines. I sold them when they were brand new when I was with the Singer Company. Just be careful not to sew on anything too heavy. Especially don’t use oversized thread. Just use it for your light sewing so you don’t break a gear.

@@TheGardenKitten when going over a seam, that’s when it might get challenged. The gears can break when the operator “helps” by turning the hand wheel. If the machine is reluctant to penetrate the fabric, that’s the clue to take it cautiously. Enjoy your new machine.

I mistakenly used a larger bobbin as mentioned in the video and able to get the case back in. Thank you for that. Using the wrong bobbin also affected my foot lever and is now stuck in down position and the pressure foot lever doesn’t lock in place to the “up” position and doesn’t raise the foot at all. The machine is singer model 5932. Any videos on how to fix that?

@@randyyoursewingmachineman9954I saw on your video when you lifted the lever there is a piece on a shaft that the lever pushes up to raise the foot. On mine it was too high so I just pushed it down and now that works! Yay! But now the tension on the underside of fabric is large loops and the tension dial doesn’t make it better.

@@sewbeeit8809 when the presser bar is lifted, it releases the tension. With no tension there will be big loops underneath. The lifter/release mechanism that pushes the pin on the back of the tension assembly is out of adjustment. Take a look at that and you’ll probably solve the problem.

I sure hope you can help me.. I have a nanometers model 8077 machine I was cleaning it last night and noticed that white piece that the bobbin case sits on maybe the cam or cam driver? That’s what I’m not sure about what it is called? I noticed it has a crack also looks like metal on the right side something looks like it’s shaved off the metal. I was wanting to know wonder why it cracked and cause of metal problem ? It still sews but sounds like it hitting something in there ? Tyvm

Without seeing it I’m just guessing, it sounds like the gear has a crack in it. That’s what they do before they fail Be careful and try not to stress it by sewing on a dense or heavy fabric, and it might last a while. You also might use this time to shop for a replacement gear or a machine with steel gears. Good luck.

Do you know what year this came out? I recently got a finesse 834 at a thrift which seems to be set up the same exact way

They were made at the beginning of the plastic gear era in the seventies and eighties. The platform is still in use on some more recent models as well.

How to you get the feed dogs to work please i tried everything do u have a vedio on that as my dog feeds dont move

If your feed dogs don’t move, make sure the machine is not set in the buttonhole mode. Then make sure your stitch length is set on 10. If they still don’t move, you probably have broken feed gears. Take the bottom cover screw loose and visually check the gears. If they are stripped, you will see that condition easily. If they need replaced, a competent repair person can do that for you. The gears are still available. Good luck.
