Sparks are generated and the carbon brushes become short or the friction for a long time causes the surface of the commutator to be uneven, resulting in a short circuit of the commutator. The coil of the generator usually has a relatively thick diameter of the enameled wire. So it is not easy to damage. After the generator is repaired, due to reasons such as insulation and dynamic balance, the first-class durability of the generated power will be reduced. However, these generators are usually used by diesel trucks, because they are relatively old, so there are few electrical equipment and the load is not so heavy, so they are still very valuable for maintenance.

Этожы не ремонт тэх обслуживание.не проверял на межвитковые замыкание якоря и стартора и реле регулятора простой другой бу омотку стартора почистел и пошивник новый поставил у них стенда нету проверит сколько вольт даёт генератор.

In regard to the title - this is not a generator it's am alternator! I like the way all of the bolts and screws are torqued down. I owned a bus company for over 25 yrs and we rebuilt quite a few of these alternators but never so hap-hazard.

I watch so many of these videos, guys repairing stuff, making stuff they are all so good but here and there you get the occasional one let them down Like this one. How was the slip rings, how was the brushes I see you checking to see if any of the diodes and gone to ground but was there any gone and possibly the voltage drop through the diode, I know it had an external regulator but what was the output voltage of the alternator and did it vary with the field winding voltage? so many things not done (you had a volt meter check the output voltage)! without the regulator expect around 20/30 volts on a 12 volt system and about 40 to 45Volts on a 24 volt system; depending on the alternator loading ETC. and I am a qualified mechanic & a auto electrician for many years

David I can tell you they do there work on grond they,eat on the grond round oval 6 inch high table and also have sex on ground, that's why populatin high. In the east everything is done on the floor . They would probably have a hard time standing a whole shift. At the end of the day everything is put into the shop.

Buffing with a wire wheel with no eye protection and holding it down with your foot! It does not cost a fortune to build a wooden bench to bolt the grinder to and the safety glasses used all over the world are probably made there or in a near by country. it only takes one bit of wire to take out an eye. its hard to repair stuff if you are blind.

Это автобусный генератор. На грузовиках стоят как автомобильные, только с напряжением 28 вольт. Этот тоже 28 вольт, но на автобусе потребителей значительно больше, вот и размеры большие.

Terrible rough handling of the windings, continually dragging them across the concrete/dirt and crushing them on what ever else he had. When a wire from the wire wheel gets in his eye, he might just consider getting half a pair of safety glasses to protect the other eye.

@@vanadiumVGrounding to the housing would not be a problem but, putting current through ball bearings is not good for them. Arcing occurs inside the bearing where the balls contact the race, pitting the metal surfaces.
