This was my first time doing a petcock of this type hence my mistake! But that's why I always leave that stuff in, so you hopefully won't make the same mistakes as me :) Anyway, I hope this was helpful and it really is very straightforward and easy to do and can save you s LOT of money if you have a leaky petcock. It happens us all with age....

Aye I'd give anything a go as long as I have a manual in front of me. You made it seem simple enough. Good video

I've stopped buying a lot of manuals as I'd be broke and need bookshelves for them :D I just try find pdf ones for free online for most things. Ah it's honestly a grand job! Thanks :)

I have the kit here for my B12N ... Awaiting word on my carbs from the Ultrasonic guy. Courier played football with my parcel and broke off a nib on float bowls. Hopefully the bandit roars into life before the end of 2021 :)

Never had ta do that job before but I reckon I will need to on my Magna though so a good watch and ya can always learn something new . Just one thing that would differ fer me is that I always get one screw which a bugger ta get out virtually on everything I attempt : D . Oh good ta see that CMS have reduced their postage costs ta the UK yay I can now get bits from there .Cheers Michael another gem : )

Yeah my one was too far gone the time with the Magna sadly but rebuilding them is much much cheaper, and easy!! :) The good thing about this petcock is none of the holes were blind so even if they were stuck heat and some wd40 would have made it very easy to get them to move :) Ah nice one! A few Christmas service bits coming so :) Thanks :)

Your skills well and truly out do mine GB, you realised the spring was left out, I would realise that at the end, I’m good at rushing just to get the job done and end up buying a new one if available 😂😂😀👍

Hahaha that's actually why I put those white boards down and clean them between jobs, really easy to see if you've left anything out :) No skills at all :P Haha I did also buy a new one for the Magna, but nice to know we don't have to :)

Have done a few always worth while doing in case of any rust in the tank

I would try this on my own, seems easy enough. Don't know how I feel about you cleaning Kaz's "petcock", especially around your mom but I guess to each their own. It had to be said. Cheers

It's honestly fine, the main thing is just to clean it all nicely :) Haha I needed parental supervision yano, in case it got too out of hand :D

Danke! Ah you'd be surprised, a big issue with the bikes here is they live outside a lot and the rubbers perish, plus this one was 25 years old :)

I have to replace the fuel tap on my Ducati. It is in a very awkward part of the tank. Been putting it off for a few weeks now. Just need to run the tank down to empty (so there is an excuse to ride it).
@TheGorillaBiker
@TheGorillaBiker 2 жыл бұрын
Ah lovely, wouldn't be Ducati if it's wasn't horribly awkward to fix :D Hey low gears and lots of noise :) That'll clear up that fuel problem nice and quick :)

Oh the joys of petcocks and carburetors. Learned to work on those on a 2003 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Classic, and a 1980 KZ440 LTD. Was an interesting experience. Have you worked with the point system some older bikes have? Another great video! Thanks for sharing.

I like carbs, petcocks are one of those things that everyone forgets about and leaky ones can cause massive issues! I had it with the Magna previously and it causes mayhem with fuel efficiency and fuel in my oil etc. Only once or twice and never a lot, I will eventually tho :) Thanks :)

If it wasnt for my MX bike I would say it's been decades since I rode a bike with a petcock. Kaz's whole bike was quite crusty, looks new after you cleaned it. Did you use the ultra sonic cleaner for any of the bits. Oh man does it ever take so much longer to make a video out any of these jobs. Totally got why you didn't film the carbs. Of course I would do this job but you know that.

Well the GSXR has a petcock too, just a vacuum only one :P You'll be touching plenty of petcocks soon and keeping them clean :P Haha the poor thing has to live outside, in Ireland that's always going to cause some crust sadly. Only on the carbs and brakes the petcock didn't need the bath, might have shined it up a bit more but I could reach everything with the dremel :) Yeah you get it, multiply everything by at least 4 times :D Haha you'd do it faster than me :P

What's in a name? That which we call a Gtr by any other name would still smell as strongly of overfueling petrol fumes under heavy acceleration to any rider following said Concours without the expert knowledge and assistance of @theGorillaBiker (who incidentally by any other name still smells of GorillaBikerness)
