Fun times! Getting ready to yank the rear from a customers 67 Camaro. Not one of my favorite jobs, but this a 66k mile car with no rust, so it should not be that horrendous. Good work on your ride.

@@ArrowheadGarage the rear end is the only original piece of drivetrain left in this car. Customer replaced the 327 with a 350 some years ago, and I installed a TKO 600 for him a while back.

I have a 79 trans-am 10th anniversary 400, 4Spd. I'll be taking out the rear and and leaf springs to clean that all up and repaint everything. Everything is quite similar, but i dont have that traction bar link.

Ya that 79 Bird won't have the old style traction bar(s), but the rest is pretty darn close!

You should try dawn heavy duty degreaser. I dilute it 3:1 for general cleaning or you can use it straight on heavy grease or oven and stove tops too. And there is no smell.

Great series, I've enjoyed watching. Each time you struggle with a bolt I want to reach out and assist. I bought a 68 and it has an extended spring with shackles off the back. It has raised the car a lot further than I would like. Is the spring you are using (single leaf) with original?

That differential doesn’t look like it is original to the car. It has bosses on it for a 4 link suspension, like in a lemans or GTO. Someone went to a lot of trouble to shorten the axle tubes and weld leaf spring perches on it.
