How to Record and Mix Rap Vocals Like a Pro (Start to Finish)

This is deff a good starting point for beginners. Keep in mind that no music engineering is completely correct.. perception on right is biased. With that being said I notice a few non standard errors on your song upon listening to it on iTunes . Your vocal could use a multi-band compressor . See you have fab filter and theirs is usually the best . Just to clean up the mids. Also parallel compression for any vocals you intend as a main vocal to ensure clarity is enhanced . When using headphones (Apple air pod pros) I noticed the whisper part and the chorus effect part of the song was completely drowned by the instrumental . Since you have a two track instrumental you can open it up with EQ subtracting around the mid 400-800 range . Greatly impacting the clarity and vocal pocket in the mix . If you send over your Fl project I could tweak it and show you or I could send over one of my projects and show you . This is not intended as an offensive comment but only a constructive growth kind of thing . Love the song tho will be downloading it and bumping it !

Hey, I wanted to ask and make a statement for the bottom roll off. I've heard from big engineers and producers that when you roll of your lows and do cutting you should be really careful about doing the same thing for every mix. And I also do my bottom roll off really shallow sloped so that I don't lose information that really bring the "real life feel" to the rap. I feel like it's a fine line to walk because you don't wanna sound like everyone else. The only plugin I abuse is compression sometimes which After I see your compression amount I feel better. Lol Could you explain multiband compression deeper in another video?
