Great video. Really wish Roland put in more effort to support their complex products with more tutorials like this (as opposed to just sales demos). One question: I notice in the DAW playback that the tracks are recorded as audio. Is it possible to record the drum tracks as midi so that they can be edited in the piano roll? Thanks!
@KJSawkaOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Hey Tim, yes it can be recorded as midi and you can adjust the notes in the piano roll very easy. Just set your midi track up in your daw, and press record. Its literally that easy. For audio recording, the td-50 needs to be your selected as your audio card. But for midi it can work within the confines of your daws midi capabilities. Hope this helps.

There is one thing you should have added. Instead of splitting the Hi-Hat and cymbals on outputs 1 and 2, you could have easily assigned those to 2 the 4 Aux outputs and had more control over the panning.

I have a Tascam DP-24SD and don’t use a DAW. Is is possible to multi track record with the TD-50 and still utilize a 3rd party drum VST (EZD3)? If possible, would I need an interface with say at least 8 input/outputs? Thanks…

Love your video I learn a lot. Keep them coming. Question? Let say you recorded a loop inside of the roland TD-50 Only. And you hear your drum track playing with the music. Is it possible to tweak your drums within the settings like Reverb/EQ/the distance of your mic/compression or other while the track is playing. and then save your setting. It's like building your own Mix without having to hit the drums one by one and then play to see how it sounds. So in a nutshell I'm saying Record a simple loop. Fix drums up with the goodies and save your setting.

Need Help Like crazy. when multi tracking Protools will not record at all it just keeps on stoping. I can' even hit the kick drum and protools will stop. Very Upset. Here's why I'm upset. Been dealing with this issue for years on the 2015 MacBook Pro So I really thought my MacBook was just outdated or etc. So Now I have MacBook Pro M1 Max Protools 2021 And the same thing is going on when Using Midi And Audio. Now The Roland TD-50 Works great when using Drum Machine Akai MPCX Also did a little test on Logic It works ok. But I don't know Logic at all. Don't know how to set it up. What could be giving me these error massage when I'm not using any plug'in at all. Massage A CPU Overload error Occurred. If this happens often, try increasing the H/W Buffer Size in the Playback Engine Dialog, or removing some plug-ins. ( AAE-6101).

Hey, great vid. I'm trying to record to Ableton using the TD-25 and can't get my head around it. Do you use midi channels or audio channels? Could 2 of these be put together? Join the modules/brains? To make a meaty double bass kit 🤔 👌
@sweetwater4 жыл бұрын
Hello, St Mindless! You certainly could, and you can do so in a few ways, really. First way would be to feed the outputs of one unit into the stereo mix input of the second unit with a Y-cable. You could also mix the two stereo outputs of each unit with a mixer of some sort. And lastly, you could use the direct outputs from both TD50s and mix all of the drum components individually with a mixer. It would be an absolute MONSTER of a kit! Thanks for the interest!
