How to record music on android using Yamaha psr-e453 | 2018

Hi everyone! in this video I show you how to use a Yamaha psr-e453 Keyboard
to record music using an Android Phone.
in this video I used an //LG K20// with ///n-Track/// Android App.
With this App you can record multitrack and edit, add effects and
export your recordings as mp3 to play it on any device.
This is just something you can do, there is more you can do with
this Yamaha psr-e453 keyboard.
To record audio from Keyboard to android via usb make sure:
Function 52 Local is On
Function 54 KbdOut is Off
Function 58 LoopBack is Off
I am not a pro keyboard player, so please do not judge!

You can also use TRRS adapter for this function, which is used thru phone audio port.

Multi tracks can be recorded on the instrument itself as User songs, but the format can either be .bup, and .midi.

You haven't shown usb cable & keyboard connection... does that mean the keyboard has a dedicated usb slot that's why you thought it was unnecessary to show the connection ?

Read all the comments but still trying to figure out your setup exactly: So you 1) connect the device to the keyboard through usb, then when you are recording, how do you still hear the music coming from the keyboard while playing since the audio output is connected to the multitrack? Also, how do you hear a metronome while recording - from the app, how? Then when you record Track 2 (piano) how do you also hear track 1 (drums) playing? What output does your phone use for that and where is it connected?

With all respect to you and everyone, first you have to watch the whole length of the video, if possible watch again, you can see in the comments what everyone says, but the thing is that most people who has watched the video have watched it only the first minute, there is nothing wrong with that, but the truth is that everything is in the video, there is not much happening here. If you keep reading I will explain it to you. I am pointing out this because you said that you read all the comments, and you make it sound that I faked the video. Ok, so here is what happens: 1) The keyboard has 3 audio output, the first one the the onboard speakers, second one: headphone output, third one: the usb output. 2) In this keyboard the usb cable A-B has three functions, one: sending Out MIDI signal if you want to use it as a midi controller, second: sends audio out , third: receive audio input. 3) when you connect this to a device, in this case to android phone and n-Track app I select the keyboard as audio input. And also select the keyboard as audio output so I can listen to the metronome or the tracks already in, meaning that I send the audio to the keyboard this way I hear track 1 while I play and record track 2 and so on. When you play chords on the keyboard you are already listening to that through the speakers or headphone, so you only need to hear what is already recorded on the phone, and you get that by usb. That is why I select the keyboard as input and output, you could output the audio to the phone and connect a headphone to it, the problem is that there is delay on the audio coming from the keyboard so you can’t hear it in real-time, but no need to do that because in this case the keyboard becomes your audio interface. Whether the usb is connected to a device or not, the onboard speakers or the headphone will work normally. Hopefully this long answer helps you or anyone who watches the video. Thanks everyone!

Hi! When you connect the keyboard to pc, the pc detects the keyboard as audio card, so whatever plays on the pc it will sound through the keyboard speaker or headphones along with whatever you play on the keyboard. Also the pc listen to the keyboard sound. That way you can record while you listen to what you play. Hope this solve your question. Sorry for late answer! Thanks!

If n-track's USB audio recording feature doesn't work in free app, then how is it guaranteed to work in paid app on any android device ? I tried connecting my keyboard to my android device several times but it does not detect the keyboard as a USB device. BTW it is an android 6.0 based device.

Hi! This is the only app that a have tested. Not all android phones suport OTG Usb. n-Track is pay as you go app. Monthly.

TheKyke23 my phone supports usb otg very well, I have transferred many styles files into memory stick and then loaded on the instrument. But don't know why it doesn't work with Keyboard host. Can you check that app with some other low end android phones ?

Hi! I sorry to hear that! It should work if your phone support USB OTG. Unfortunately I don’t have access to other android phones. Some OTG cables does not work properly. I have two and one does not work with this keyboard. You should have the app installed so it detects the the keyboard as usb device. It is free to download and try. Thanks!

Just saw this. I know how to record 1 layer over another layer of tracks. But this good for 1 style only. I wanted to use 3 styles for the different parts of a song while recording it but psr e453 somehow cannot do it. I think i read this disadvantage before but i never tried not until a while ago. If somebody figured it out how and can share it, i would like to learn about it. This video on the other hand serves the workaround. Tnx for sharing!

Parhana bhi ek kala hai. achchha teacher wahi hai jo samjhe wah beginner ko bata raha hai. Aapne Printer cable ke ek end ko connect kiya par dusra end kahan connect kiya bataya hi nahi.
