How to Record Stereo Delay on One Amp with Strymon Timeline (using Grace 101 preamp)

This is a short video explaining how to capture true stereo delay (from the Strymon Timeline) into your DAW without having to use two cabinets or two amps, etc.
Using a preamp (in this case the Grace M-101), you can send the recorded mic single from your amp into a stereo delay pedal (in this case the Strymon Timeline).
From there each output channel (left and right) from the delay pedal goes into your USB/Firewire recording interface.
Each channel can then be assigned separate tracks in your DAW. These tracks are then easily panned left and right, which creates a stereo effect.

I haven't thought of this yet or had the time to discover it so thank you. One question: How much does the mic preamp matter, i.e., can I do that same thing and go strait into my Audio Interface which has decent preamps?

You could, if your interface has enough outputs and inputs. You would run the mic'ed guitar signal stereo out, into the strymon stereo in, and then back to your interface on a stereo channel. This would allow you to have a dry mono mic guitar signal and the stereo delay signal on separate channels.

I record on a outboard TASCAM 32 track now. Only did one take on it. Before I used strait in internal modulations on a BR-800 8 track. But nothing beats a mic'd AMP on the 32 with the internal effects being to weak. So (haven't uploaded anything ussing this technique yet.) But I just mic the amp without delay into a mic chord that adapts to 1/4 inch. into a mid level stereo delay and split that (mic sounding) signal into stereo ping pong, or reverse, etc etc into two tracks. Or I'll use two mics also. One strait in, the other threw the delay for 3 tracks, with the middle being dry, the delay pedal split. That gives me room to change how much of the original sound is mixed with the delay tracks. You can also do this via effect loops, but I find that more of a pain. I only do it for leads on a jam track I'm doing now. cause leads are so improvised I can't double them. I just double rhythems. But I don't have a tun of money for equipment, so you find ways.
