Great video! Is there a way to start and stop the backing track while still recording yourself? I want to do guitar lessons where i can listen to a part of a track, stop it and show how to play it, and then start the track again.. can i do this in garageband? Or do i need a different program?

I know it's been a few years since you've posted this vid but I have a question. What software did you use to get the picture in picture of yourself? I'm to figure out how to record myself on camera playing to a backing track in Garage Band.

You're getting a nice tone. What kind of speakers are you using?

You're very kind! It's literally just a strat plugged into an iRig HD 2 plugged into a MacBook Pro running the stock "Royal Rock" preset in Garage Band. No speakers at all.

@@BrianSnyderND There have to be some speakers. What is producing the notes played on the guitar? The Macbook Pro speakers? I have a MacBook Pro also and use a Zoom H4N as an interface. I plug my relatively cheap computer speakers into the line out of the Zoom headphone/line out jack, but the tone I'm getting is not as good as what I hear on your video. BTW: Where do you get backing tracks like the one you're using? I tried using a KZbin backing track, but it doesn't show up on Garageband. Do you know how to use a KZbin backing track on Garageband? Thanks for the reply.

@@navigator3744 The notes played on the guitar as heard here were recorded directly via GarageBand, not mic'd from a speaker. I had headphones plugged into the iRig HD 2, and I heard the same thing that you hear on the video. For a digital/simulated sound, I think the tone in GarageBand is pretty good. The backing track in the video is this one - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnzJdqejnpekeNk - and the video shows how to export from KZbin and import to GarageBand as a backing track.

@@BrianSnyderND I appreciate the reply. The video seems to gloss over the export from KZbin process. Suggests that one needs some special software. I'm going to watch it again.

@@navigator3744 there's a website to use to export from KZbin. If you watch again and it isn't clear, please let me know! Thanks.

What is Irig Hd2? I have no microphone or speakers. I just have earphones.
