If you just want to restore deleted SMS files from a particular person,: 1. Open messages. 2. tap the 3 menu dots in the upper-right hand corner. 3. tap "Trash." 4. Select deleted item. 5. Click restore.

LoFi Alpaca: If it happens to delete a message or all messages, and lets say that you never backed them up to a cloud, android phones specifically the Samsung Galaxy ones have a feature called trash and every message you've deleted will be moved there, but if you go to the trash folder you can restore them back to message, so no third party tools/website applications is required.

@@shannonjarman9048 Go to the message folder, click on it and you'll see the 3 dots to the right of the folder, click on it and you'll see the trash, click on the trash and you'll see all your deleted messages and each message it will tell you how many days are left before permanent deletion. If you want to recover any message, just highlighted it and chose restore. I hope that this helps.😉
