Claire Weekes is my hero . I have a few but she has been the most profoundly helpful to me . A lifesaver , literally . What amazes me is that no doctor I have ever seen , no counsellor , no mental health practitioner has ever heard of her . People that have recovered from the hell of nervous illness/anxiety /panic know her and love her .

Many thanks Jonah , this is a wonderful presentation of Claire Weekes excellent and pioneering approach for nervous suffering / anxiety and a very helpful reminder of her teaching and approach . I found your explanation of her own suffering very sad yet inspiring because she really knew how terrifying it really is and with talking with the poor traumatized soldier gained a better understanding of the fear of fear and how this will only keep this cycle to continue ,on and on and on,untill you are afraid of anything and everything ,a living Hell .Thankyou again for this great reminder of her great great work . I wish you and anyone who may be suffering well ,and that we all remember her wise words and that recovery is possible for all of us .❤

I haven't experienced this, but could be! Though I try to not focus on my symptoms--it tends to make things worse for me.

@jonahradeke

Some of the symptoms I experience(d) around panic/anxiety include racing heart, dizziness, hyperventilation, shaky hands, nausea, and upset stomach. As I've recovered, these symptoms have really dialed down and don't bother me anymore.

Once I really internalized the mindset and techniques that Claire Weekes talks about, I recovered quite fast. It took a few months to really embrace the process, but once I got there, the effect was immediate.

Yeah, I would say so! Recovery to me is not being overwhelmed by fear. I still feel anxious sometimes (a human thing to feel), but I'm able to move through it with a clear head now.
