Me too. I'm applying for jobs and just know the next one that I work at, the same kind of person or scenario will just eventually happen again. I'm searching for jobs with least human interaction because of this lol

I used to work for a university in the electrical departments for 8 years. It was hell on earth. That was over 20 years ago. I still haven't recovered and I can't face the Industry again. Other peoples trampling ambitions and idea stealing bullying elitists. Poison to the soul. Very difficult when you have a family, mortgage etc. To leave.

That's like me, 20 years in a school district, the abuse was unreal. I'm retired, and still think about it, after being gone a year. I still dream about the abuse too.

I'm sorry that you all went through this. I was a student nurse 13 years ago. Only completed 1st year because of the horrendous bullying that started from day 1. I still think about it from time to time.

I had to quit. I was unjustly disciplined in front of the bully.

Unfortunately I have seen that this is too common. I had an interview today and while filling out the paperwork in front of the receptionist, I had tremors. I was bullied a lot at my last job and the job prior and I think the damage is done. I'm going to have to see a doctor to address it. I feel very ripped off. Worse than ripped off. I hope you are doing better today. Blessings.

Left a toxic work environment. Found other work elsewhere not so toxic. The turnover at my former job continued. The toxic individual who started most of the unsettledness and started fights pitting other coworkers against each other- while grinning at the sidelines and spreading lies about other coworkers just made it to assistant manager. Congrats to him.

It's hard for me because I am a registered nurse and my bully is a band 6 ward sister. It's difficult to prove bullying on this level. I plan to transfer to another ward. Effectively giving her what she wanted, to push me out. Bleak situation and such a slap in the face for all my hard work and dedication.

At this time I’m in a toxic work setting. Majority of former associates have left: some transferred to other location , others moved back to their home state, others like myself are fed up with the work environment. Honestly I can’t say I’m traumatized but really fed up with the situation and thus the only reasonable solution is to find employment elsewhere. I’m honest and hard working to a fault but won’t tolerate a toxic environment that’s isn’t good for not only myself or my co workers but most importantly the customers who suffer the most “Loyalty is dead , companies killed it”

I have had issues with anxiety and tremors that are involuntary. I get it. I was bullied at my last job, and today I had an interview and experienced tremors. I am very upset that I have this much damage simply because someone else felt like bullying me. Got a bit of a headache after the interview. Probably stress, feeling deep inside that it could happen again. Doesn't seem entirely fair.

Got a nonprofit the largest grant in history and then they wanted me to resign. I said no b/c I would not get my unemployment. They fought for me not to get it but the unemployment office found no misconduct on my role. I filed a human relations complaint and lawsuit due to them terminating me two weeks after the doctor released me from a work related injury. I lost those due to them having a board member who knew the judge and another board member who was working in the same building with people in the human relations department. Years later, I learned about narcissism and the person that caused my pain was a narcissistic individual. A couple of companies released him from his employment. You reap what you sow. Whatever you do, please learn about narcissism.

Seems like the only…i have a close relative , a brother- he is an arrogant fool, with a professional qualification. In management, a staff reported him for bullying, he was on leave with pay, investigated and reinstated. I’m guessing he spoke to this staff member the way he speaks to me. He is a total pain in the butt, unfortunately he didn’t seem to learn much from the incident. Thing is he lectures people anout nonsense and is clueless, I imagine that lots of people learn to avoid him. This is in no way any sort of defence, but his is an idiot more than anything, he does not to bring people down and he is not premeditated. Skilled bullies are strategic and very manipulative, they are dangerous and twisted. Bullying in children was studied closely- two types emerged. Victim bullies and relational bullies. Victim bullies- male or female bully and torment other kids, when caught, investigated etc, they are the kids with adverse home lives and have their own problems. Like we were always told about. Relational bullies, were the larger number, their bullying involved direct and indirect bullying and they had their followers. These kids had no problems with teachers, academics, friendships or at home. Their lives were in tact across many domains. They enjoyed doing this stuff- oh and yes they do grow up, get higher level education and careers, make friends, meet nice partners, have their parents help with their kids etc, life is ok and they get to practice what they always liked.. a little bit of tormenting here a big bot of tormenting there and home to a happy, often busy family life.. not a bother.

The acknowledgement that others are going through the same thing is not comforting. I don't think that fact is helpful with regard to recovery. It does suggest that this is a common problem. Focusing on gratitude as you mention is helpful to keep the attitude in a good place. I think that recognizing where boundaries are and learning how to maintain boundaries with a bully is the trick that needs to be talked about.

I got bullied twice from my ex work places environment. First in 2018 until 2021, and then in 2022, now I want to begin to find a new job again, but I still traumatized while I also have PTSD because of my childhood trauma, what should I do? I just want to continue life and career again, but I feel so exhausted. Please help! :(

Me too. I didn't even have PTSD, but thanks to a LOT of bullying and me putting up with it because of having to pay bills with no help, as I am a single parent, I stayed longer than I would have if I didn't have a child to provide for. But I am starting to experience negative symptoms that I didn't know I had, until I saw a pattern. I'm really unhappy with this. I don't think it's right. Bullying should not be tolerated in workplaces.
