Idk whether there'll be change in remaster or not, but you can actually start making profit early from the moment you have access to Trading Post. That way, you don't need to backtrack all the way to home just to do trading and can instantly recruit him the first time you enter Gregminster, well as long as you already made 50k profit that is.... And for Siegfried, besides the crystal, all you need is bring "Pure Maiden" character. So either Nanami, Tengaar, or Ellie is fine. But not Rina tho as she was already.... well you know.... back in the Mountain Pass to Kyaro.... And just as it was easier to recruit Anita by bringing Valeria, it's also easier (and faster) to recruit Mondo and Sasuke if you bring Kasumi. And you'll have earlier access to Ninja Village as well, like from the moment you choose and recruit Kasumi. Well since we can only choose one of them, choose whichever suits you. Tho I prefer Valeria since her stats are better AND recruiting Anita could takes a lot of time without her as the required 3 requests are a bit random (Mine took almost 3 game hour....)

Well you can recruit Templton (and get the map) much earlier. It's when Jess sends you to disguise as Highland soldier to sneak at the camp. Moreover it's also the final chance to free roam with Jowy before his betrayal.

You can recruit her there, but each time you do what she asks for you need the leave the city and re-enter it again ;)
