This process begins with collecting and sorting waste materials such as: Paper, Glass, Plastic And metals. Once collected, these materials are cleaned and processed into raw forms that can be used to manufacture new products. For instance, recycled paper is made by breaking down used paper into pulp. It’s then used to create new paper products. Recycled glass is melted down and reformed into new glass products. At the core of the recycling process is the concept of the circular economy, which aims to use our resources for as long as they can possibly be used. While these resources are in use, the maximum value is extracted from them. Then, we recover and regenerate their products and materials at the end of their service life. This contrasts with the traditional linear economy, which has a 'take, make, and dispose' model of production. In a circular economy, recycling plays a crucial role in closing the loop, turning waste back into a reusable resource. That way, the need for new, raw materials and the environmental impacts are both reduced. Recycling is an important process. It can significantly reduce your environmental impact. For instance, recycling aluminum saves 95% of the energy required to make the same amount of aluminum from raw ore. This practice can also have economic benefits for your business. Recycling reduces the amount of waste sent to these sites, which lowers disposal costs. There’s also a growing market for products made from recycled materials, presenting new business opportunities.
