No matter how strong you are when you come to leave, you will face an almost overwhelming sense of despair for casting aside the hopeful return to the golden period, and for going against your promises to never leave and always make things work. But once you've left and more importantly cut all contact, you'll heal to strength in leaps and bounds. Besides which, the narcissist in your life will make short work of any strength you have or may gain. Far better to just leave ASAP.

Meagan Jackson I've been trying that for 8 months. It's sad that I was happy he had a new supply hoping it'd help, but I believe she may be a narc too. It's been a nightmare. My ex wanted to move her in right away traumatizing his own son. 8 months and he's shown his son no support. He ran to a lawyer and said I was alienating him from his son. Document everything and be careful when texting if you have to. My ex was always trying to bait me, he uses our son to try and hurt me. He doesn't understand I don't care. I walked away from the house and half of my belongings. Starting at the bottom is better but mine won't stop trying to knock me down.

I did get a chance to eff with him a wee bit.. it was quite fun. He tried to work me by making me feel guilty several times and I was sweetly compassionate but did not respond to his requests, at all. I said things like, "oh that's terrible" then nothing more and did nothing. I was smiling from ear to ear for days. He actually even tried to get a situation straight with me in conversation, which was shocking- I could NEVER get anything straight with him in conversation so, I used his line. I said, "are you still on that"? OH I KNOW that rattled his dirty little cage 8-) I used to check my "blocked text" folder on my phone so I could pretend to be nice and give him the hope that I would allow him to hoover me again... but now, I'm done. I messed with him long enough to feel fulfilled and I've moved on. DANG it's so good to feel so happy again! I'm a singer and I actually got my voice back. Life is GOOD. I know his sucks. Bummer...

Hello HG. I have enjoyed listening to yout videos. They give me tons of insight into my father. I have decided that he is a midranger. I haven't come accross videos where you talk about children of Narcissist parents but I would like ro hear yout take on it. My mother is divorced from my father and I also try and maintain no contact with him. However, my mother sometimes still talks to my young daughter about her "grampy." This irritates me as I would much prefer my daughter to think my father is dead. My father did email me after I slipped up and allowed my daughter to call him because she wouldn't stop asking and I knew he wouldn't answer. Instead he emailed saying hed love to talk to my daughter but cant because of all the terrible things I say about him that aren't true, and invited me to therapy. He added my mother in this email as well. I responded (i know I should have ignored) and told him that I had screenshot the email and posted it to Facebook. This invoked rage. He responded attacking my mother and me and you get the picture. I didn't respond after that. Anyway, it would be great if you could make a video about how narcissists view or interact with their children. I would love to give it a listen.

Interesting observance. My “Narc” always wants to give high fives to people when we are in a social gathering. Always when she has talked about herself, or voicing her opinion on a subject. HG is it possible to upset a narcissist. Is there a way to get emotions out of them. My ex would try to lure me back and ask me out and when I went I was very subdued. I wouldn’t engage in conversation about us and just spoke about general things. He paid for me to get my hair done and expected to go out later but I wouldn’t return his phone calls and went out with another guy. I told him that I was out with a guy that he knew. How does getting no fuel and then placing my emotions somewhere else effect the narc. It made me happy to see the look on his face. Also i will text him to ask a question and when he replies I say nothing and absolutely will not return any of his text msgs .

Mid Range - Lower (Emotional Discipline) The narcissist is a master at training a person on how to discipline their emotions. But the person receiving the abuse, but unable to leave the situation, has to be able to understand the Toxic Logic (kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6HSg3V_oap1baM) being used. (Personal Experience) (4 Years of Training)-- I went through this at work with a boss that would manipulate my emotions, until I eventually caught on to this occurring. I didnt understand narcissism at the time, but I had enough insight to see that he was manipulating me, and that was enough to get me to discipline myself. It takes time, and you'll fall over and over again, but eventually you'll be able to withstand 95% of the BS. (The Ambush) The Ambush is a bit more difficult to dodge, though. It forces you to be on guard at all times. But if you know your dealing with a narcissist, you'll be guarded with you words as it is. But again, you can master your emotional output to this as well. This is probably the final stage of "mastery", because as I have noticed, if they sense you catching on, this will be one of the "more calm" final resorts.

I’m being hoovered right now🤣🤣🤣. First day after a week of not talking I got a text. I wished them happy birthday prior week and no response but not they are texting.😏. I responded and first response from them was trying to hate me into an argument. No sir......I responded to the statement and said nothing else about it. Nothing but a big fat grey rock. They asked for a favor, usually I was happy to help but this time, I wasn’t sure if I was going to be available but maybe I were not too busy. 😏. My ex has not secured a primary source since he dumped me a year ago. The much younger women he targeted were not interested in him. He has completely left me alone and knows I still love him. How is it that he hasn’t decompensated due to lack of fuel? Could online chats with women be fueling him? Or maybe his co-workers give him enough fuel at work? He has many narcisstic traits. Either he is an exceptional narc or he is not one. But I think he is one.

Catalina Roses : Hi. He'll get fuel just from attempting to target these younger women, then use everyone else for backup. I can guarantee he's getting fuel from foreign women online. They'll want his money, and he wants their fuel, both are desperate, so it's a two way street, although they'll probably never meet. Narcissists always use these women because there is no commitment issue, and he'll have so much thought fuel to sustain him. They all do the exact same things. Very limited way of behaving but identical. 🙁 it really gets to us doesn't it. Hope you can leave him in the past soon.

Phantomhive Girl because it’s never enough, it gets stale to them and they need to devalue and discard and juggle other sources of fuel, humiliate you in the process and then love bomb you again to suck you back in. Mostly though staying and giving them fuel will eventually shatter your heart and wound your soul.

How do you stop them from gas lighting you late at night or waking you up early, especially before an event? This person likes to do this and then expect me to try to live up to the social obligations and be a contender among peers. I'm starting to realize what a mental problem they have and how I've been conditioned over the years.

There is such a thing called Sleep Abuse. When you tell them or they understand that good uninterrupted sleep is important to you, they will wake you up. Too early, repeatedly during the night etc. It really is a thing!

OMG my ex used to do that to me. He would wake me up and argue with me until the wee hours of the night. I was so tired sleepy disoriented. Eventually I ended up quitting my job. I realize now that that is what he wanted me to do all along.
