Hey, Zach! Great video! I'm going to elucidate a little about something you brought up in the video re: meditation. It's not so much that you're meditating by sitting there no matter what your mind is doing; rather, it's the *very act* of struggling to calm your thoughts or bring your thoughts back to a certain place (and inevitably failing) that is the thing that strengthens your prefrontal cortex. I'm talking here specifically about the type of meditation that, in studies, has the greatest effect on your ability to focus and control your thoughts. We think we're failing at meditating, but the truth is that the very act of "failing" in meditation is proof of our success!

I love how I discovered Stoicism (+ properly practice it) and even Med students agree that having a positive mindset, identifying, etc. helps in stress-reduction bc these actually have studies that prove them. People around me think that I'm going crazy for believing these things when they're proven to be real. But hey, I can't control what they think of me so why bother or be affected by them 🤷🏻♀️

Great video Zach! I particularly liked the positive journaling idea of writing down two things that you did well that day. I am going to start doing that tonight. Wow u have written the resources I like how u summarized all of it in a video and ur B rolls are on point I disagree with positive and negative mindset ... but agree on seeing the positive in negative , post traumatic success mainnly from happiness advantage, tetris is focusing on positive mindset ... but dealing with negative mindset is important to analyse sometimes and deal , especially shame and low self esteem .. ignoring negative mindset or thoughts will not make them go away
Thank you for talking about this!!!Right now in this situation it’s need to talk about this!!I will also will be doing my research too❤️

Not a med student, but a physiotherapy one, currently 8 weeks into the course and the workload was overwhelming. Couldn't make it to face to face lessons as I'm an international student and the Australian borders aren't opening up. Tried to improve myself since I found myself constantly procrastinating and losing motivation. Also struggling with memorizing things and although I've tried the active recalling method, I just don't seem to be able to stuff that much knowledge into my head. The stress and depression kicks in once in a while and it just stops me from doing anything... Hopefully things will get better.
