How to reduce the weight of your Cricket Bat

Thanks for a job well done mate! Although it doesn't look like a big difference physically, the weight taken from the bottom of the bat has made pick up much smoother. Before, it really felt "end heavy," so picking the bat up to play aggressive shots felt very difficult. Now, however, the bat feels so much more balanced all around, and pick up for any shots is so much easier. It's made more of a difference than it might look!

I reduce 38gm on my SG player edition.. 1)I cut my bottom 1cm from down, 2) removed stickers. 3) sand bat with electric sander with 80grid, than 120 grid and finish of with 180 grid for smooth finish. Trust me my bat feels so light and I have scored a lot of runs by that bat.

Great job getting the stickers back on. I'll never believe bat makers again when they say you can always take weight off but you can't put it on... Seriously though, it does show how much difference environmental conditions can make to weight. I reckon this will pick up better for the owner. I've heard many stories about people buying GN giants and wanting 4 Oz or more taken off.

Wood definitely expands and contracts with changes to atmospheric moisture. Ever wonder why doors jam at the change of season? I have a gate that shifts 3 + mm in summer. When you look are the pores under microscope they can look like a sponge. Aussie summers are hot and here in Adelaide is dry in summer. Absolutely see weight changes,

Sir tell me one thing If I use hairdryer to remove all the stickers from the will it also reduce weight of the heat from the hairdryer. I mean using hairdryer on the bat for Few minutes to remove glue! Will it reduces my bat weight by hairdryer????

You will never reduce the weight of a bat by sanding it. You need to remove a lot of wood to make a very slight difference.
