How to refill HP 910, 912, 913, 915 Color ink cartridges - One Drop Ink Refill System

I did this with my HP 6960 cartridges. I just did what the video showed me to do. I did not have the exact printer ink colours for the printer, but I had some Candid solo printer ink black and colour ink refills I had not used for so many years. I did not fill these over the top of the cartridge in case the ink would of spilled from the cartridge into the printing machine itself. I did however did a printing cartridge ALIGNMENT TEST AND A PRINTING SMEAR TEST after I refilled the ink cartridges. The test were both successful. The HP Printer OfficeJet Pro 6960 printer screen still looked like the cartridges were half empty but I am not going to fill them further to the top if needed. If anyone is going to do this method and refill your cartridges manually, I would suggest fill them like the video is showing from above but fill them at a respectful level, not over flood your cartridge that is spills the tops of the cartridge. If you do see a spillage coming from the tops of your cartridges, just wipe the tops (or the excess) and if there is a over spillage from the bottoms of your cartridges just do the same and give them a general wipe to. This should help with the filling of your ink cartridges. I did this on my first go, I used the paper towels though, much easier to clean any excess ink fluid and to wipe any printer ink from the surfaces you were using. I did get black ink on my hands, not majorly but just little spills from the ink cartridge and from the paper towels I was using. I was using CANDID SOLO PRINTER INK BLACK AND COLOUR refills to do the method shown above. This trick does work, but will see if I can buy some HP Printer Ink refills and colour for next time, after I finish off with the other brand first. Hope this will help for those who want help with their HP cartridges and those who just want to read my comment to get some general help with their cartridges. Matt

@@ppassman7439 Hi P Passman, Matt here. Thanks for the reply. I did not do the "curved metal" thing when I did fill the cartridges. I just got my Candid ink jet refill for example, for the black one, I put the cartridge upside down, then just used the black refill ink and then just squeezed-dropped the ink into the black cartridge as shown on the KZbin video. I don't know how to configure the ink settings or that I don't want to stuff up the cartridges any further. Again if you do get the refills, whatever printer refill branding you get, I am sure this will work on your HP cartridges. Also fill them at a respectful level. I WOULD NOT FILL THEM TO THE TOP IN CASE OF A OVER SPILL IN THE CARTRIDGE. On your HP Printer Cartridge Display, after you have refilled your cartridges to a respectful level, BUT YOUR HP PRINTER CARTRIDGE DISPLAY IS SHOWING YOUR PRINTER LEVELS LOOK LOW OR QUARTER FILL, I WOULD SIMPLY IGNORE THIS MYSELF. ONLY YOU KNOW HOW MUCH INK YOU HAVE PUT IN YOUR OWN PRINTER CARTRIDGES. USE GOOD JUDGMENT HERE. Hope this helps. Matt

I don't know the exact printer number cartridges off by hand, but I just followed the video by using the printer ink refills that I did have and just drip fed the ink into the cartridges to a respectful level. On the printer screen, this still showed I had low level ink in the cartridges but I did put enough printer ink in these cartridges to be used for using the printer to be used for next time. Hope this helps. I did not have a "curved metal" part whatever you are meaning. On the video, the person filling the ink cartridges showed having a like a "metal squeezy tube", if you can call it that, on top of the bottle to drip feed the ink into the cartridges. Matt

The curved metal part started at timeline 2.30 in the video. The video is for filling only the XL (that is the HP large capacity cartridges). Your Officejet 6960 uses the HP 903 cartridges and they come in two sizes. The standard size is HP 903, written on the cartridge and the X-Large capacity cartridge is the HP 903 XL. It appears it is the HP 902 standard cartridge that you filled without the curved metal? According to the video, it looks like all the HP 903 standard cartridges can be filled normally without the curved metal and the curved metal procedure must be used for the XLs?

I use HP910 ink. I was only able to refill my cartridges 3 times then it won’t print anymore and had to buy HP910 ink. Getting refill 3 times is still cheaper than buying HP ink every time.

J A there’s no reason why it should stop working after 3 refills. I’ve refilled mine more than that and still prints. If you setup your printer HP will automatically stop you from using refilled cartridges even if they are HP that you refilled. When you setup your printer you acknowledge that you will only use new HP cartridges when they are depleted.

Purchased on the 9 Nov 20 arrived 17 Nov 20. I followed the excellent video and all went very well. Reason for purchase: I feel I am being blackmailed by HP to pay their prices, there was little or no stock of the product from HP I wanted. All my regular suppliers had next to nothing available. The alternatives wanted to charge extortionate prices. Not interested in the pay per copy idea as I have a huge variance in numbers I want to print. True the printer will not tell me the ink levels, but as I now have a reservoir of ink in stock i'm not really bothered, I think I will be able to tell when the print goes 'off' a bit! And the price? Well lets just say I will be going back to Refill House when I need another supply, it might be a while though!

@@floydlholt9829 I almost didn’t purchase the 8020 because of the expensive ink cartridges. But I’m glad I did because I’ve noticed that refilling them is easy , cheap and it works. The printer even recognizes the ink levels of the ink I’ve added . Magenta and yellow were totally depleted and now the bar shows the ink I’ve added. I wonder how many times I can refill the 910 cartridges before they’re rejected by the printer.

For hp 8020 or similar, make sure you run 2 time head cleaning cycles, and you can use it after , I did the dripping, it work great now , error message still showing ,

because this specific kind of cartridges have that opening in the bottom, what makes the refilling process easier. Other cartridge models have to be drilled in the top in order to refill them.

Once the ink cartridge is filled, you do not need to change the ink cartridge as long as it can be cleaned and printed. If the printer refuses to continue to use the ink cartridge (Depleted), you may need to replace it with a new one or purchase and install a decoder chip to continue printing. Modification of Printer Head Vents After cleaning many times, the quality of the printed quality page is not better. It is recommended to modify the Printer Head Vents under the annular seal 44. Please use a caulk glue, which is filled into the pores and repair with a thin needle tube and seals the air hole 62 air hole under the annular seal 44. The caulk glue is a type of transport contraband that you need to purchase locally. The air hole 62 under the annular seal 44 is recommended to be printed at a minimum of six hours after patching with caulk glue.

the HP902 does not track ink level , it tracks pages used. That is used to calculate the ink level. The officejet pro has a setup that should allow you to stop paper usage.

Please note that at 3:52, the ink is about to fill up; if it reaches 4:48, it will obviously continue to leak some ink.
