1. Great shirt!!! 2. I feel like skills like this is highly underrated in the cigar world. I've been a novice smoker for a few years, but until recently, I've only been using matches from the local shop, or using their in-house lighters. It wasn't until recently I brought my first legit lighter. It really is nice to see how to purge/refill it, and a lot of the other KZbin channels don't talk about this. So I appreciate what you're doing

So crazy you did this video today, I just filled out the form this afternoon to send a lighter back to Xikar. For the other viewers, the process is super easy. I really like the lighter and has worked well up until now so I just figured it needed a little rehab. Honestly, I'm laughing with you not at you Delicia...I'm sure we all have a lighter story.

1. Try using a couple of squirts of canned air on the lighter nozzle. It sometimes dislodges any carbon build up. 2. After you empty the lighter, place it in the freezer for 10 minutes then fill it with butane. It should fill up completely almost instantly.

Pretty informative as is your norm! I like using the Xikar Turrim lighter. It lays in my Herf-a-dor travel box just like another cigar, so it makes it easy to carry and convenient as well. I have numerous other lighters laying around when I’m at the house. Have you checked in to using the Bugatti lighter? Don’t know how convenient they’d be having to buy and keep all those little disposable cans of fuel, but I hear they work great.

I had a Dupont lighter that never failed me (and then I failed it by misplacing it) but most of the lighters I’ve purchased have been erratic and unreliable. I only buy torches and most will work for a while and then, just like your Xicar, will just fail and almost always after taking a full load of fuel which makes sending it back in for service problematic from a safety perspective.

@@tdelrio it's a matter of personal preference. I have looked into it and and have found no noticable difference smoking the same blend using each. When I really want to get traditional then I use the 3 match method. 2 to toast and 1 to light. I also use Spanish cedar sometimes. It's a matter of choices again personal preference. I've watched a ton of your videos because I love watching you. This will be my first critique. You could have made the point in 5 minutes versus 16. I have another comment about your Zikar experience. I had the same issue with a premium lighter, and it was fixed it by manipulating the small prong that sits over the gas exhaust on top. If it is not properly positioned, it will not spark. Perhaps that is what happened here with your Zikar. Take a look at it and observe if it is sparking. I had to send mine back twice, but now it works like a charm. (It's a Vector.)

Little note here - there's no "air" in your lighter. Only air in there was from manufacturing and it was pushed out with the first fill and use. What comes out is leftover butane. Also, I have never bled a lighter in my life (some 15 years of cigar smoking). Even one cheap $3 single flame torch I have works great after about 2 years of steady use. Sorry about the Xikar, Murphy says it has to happen in a video shoot. :)
