Yeah it was for me exactly the same. Got beaten by my first Seal on Viceroy difficulty after tackling Prestige up until P16. But well, Learning Curve is just what it is ^^

I just beat bronze seal on easiest difficulty, but i never thought i could ever made it in this game, before I watched all the guide videos on this channel. This was totally awesome, to win against impatience and seal tasks and all this plagues and forrest hostility at the same time, got lucky with corner stone lovering hostility through trading enough amber.

Not certain, but I think the hostility is per tree, so the large trees with 20 charges could provide more resources without incurring as much hostility. Haven't tested it though.

Yes it, is. I was also wondering, why he didn't mention this. He cut thru the forest like normal, making it much harder for him. I instead have all of my wood cutters set to only cut marked trees and only cuz down either the 20 charge-trees for wood or narrow corridors from glade to glade. If you place down some warehouses and hearths in other glades, you shouldn't run into to much trouble with space, but it keeps hostility down a lot.

​@@dwiesch Chopping regularly with 4-6 beavers takes ~6 years before reaching the baseline hostility that you would normally have on another map with choppers active. The early game hostility is effectively 0, posing no threat at Viceroy/Prestige difficulty, even generating Reputation through Resolve during Storm season. If you can't handle a hostility event by year 5 or 6, I'd be a lot more worried about the whole of your settlement than the trees you cut down. That's a LOT of micro required for the entire duration of your settlement, for a small benefit, that is not remotely needed to achieve victory. I wouldn't recommend it either.

Just reforged my first seal the other day and was on the final impatience point - it was pretty close, but an exciting and rewarding experience. It would've helped if I watched the video beforehand. Keep up those videos!

Wow I wish I had seen this before my first attempt! I learned the hard way you should have not just rain engines but ability to establish Trading posts, level 2 hearths etc... I also didn't know where to find that beacon which was advertised as a huge help. Not to mention not knowing you only choose one of the 3 conditions for each seal, then the reputation with the queen is capped so you can't slow down impatience after it's been maxed out, also having no idea how to gain rep with races... I'm not sure why they made tutorials for easy mechanics but not for any of the seal-related stuff

I'm definitely not a natural it seems. I got rolled my first try at a seal. This game is hard for me, but I still enjoy it. Thanks for the tips that will help me try to reforge my first seal!

It appears that I might be a natural. I beat my first seal on veteran first try but the tension was there nonetheless and I loved it. What I also loved is that inside the seal I found a walrus. And to me walrus is somewhat close to another animal which is called... seal! I don't know if it was intentional, maybe I'm just imagining things but finding (almost) a seal inside of a seal felt like a cute little joke to me and brought a smile to my face)

Personally I find it better to get your town all set before revealing the seal. Meaning completing most of my orders and unlocking as much as I can.

Finished this map after a mole spawn near my hearth and explode, killing 26 villagers. But still finished it in 1st try.

This terrifies me! I'm still a newb at AtS, so I've time to get good before I tackle this challenge, but it definitely shows me how far I've got to go still :-) Plenty of hours of content in the game, that's for sure.

At my first attempt to the seal i was thinking that this marks that show the way are showing opposite way that the seal is... Went through whole map to find out the seal is near my base on the opposite side of the island :D But still completed :D

Love your guides! I closed few seals, max the one after platinum, forgot the name. Im almost sure, that i got exactly the same quests on the seals. Am i right?

Im still confused. On my first play I made it to the seal map near the end of the cycle. It warned me I was there early but I don't know what that means. Didnt have an issue beating the map though. Afterwards nothing special happened? I had the cycle end and it just looks like you start over with a fresh world map now and the seal is still there like nothing happened. Whats the point and what am I doing now...?

The warning only tried to tell you that a new cycle will begin once you finished the seal map. You weren't too early or anything. Since you have succesfully reforged the Seal the next cycle will last longer and you now have to build your way up to the next sigil which will force a higher difficulty on you. The last challenge is a sealed forest with Prestige 20 difficulty ;)
