So this Hyundai is now a "rebuilt" vehicle? It WAS a "salvage" vehicle, but after fully repaired and inspected it becomes a "rebuilt?" Can you explain?

Will they check for the ABS/DSC lights? Cause I have a code showing for the Hydraulic Valve in my ABS, and some mechanic said I have to get that fixed? Is this true? Their charging me $700 and idk if I want to continue putting money in my 2006 325i 😢

Was it an out of state salvage certificate? My car was a CA car but I used a broker who provided me with a FL salvage certificate. I am registering the car in CA. I hope it's not an issue.

Same process as above, smog, brake & lamp inspection and vin verification either DMV or CHP. I would avoid CHP vin verification if you can since the backlog of appointment is couple months for my area. You are require to get a temporary registration before you can drive on public road so you will need to go to DMV to paid all your fee and get one day driving permit for B &L inspection. They won't give me the 3 mo. temp reg until I get the B & L inspection. Also if its a commercial vehicle, you will need weight cert from a public weight master and if there is any missing or tempered(torn sticker, etc) federal stickers(underhood and door jam area), DMV will sent you to CHP for vin verification. If you know you have any of those tempered stickers, get CHP apt as soon as possible cause i had to wait 2.5 mo for mine.

I moved to California from Texas and I bought a fully repaired salvage car in Texas. The dealer that I bought it from does not have the receipts for the parts but has a list of the parts used. Is there any way to get an inspection without the receipts?

What about if you bought a salvage title car thats already been repaired? The car wasnt registered by previous owner, could i just purchase parts for my car, print reciept, then cancel order and get my money back because i don't need any new parts?

I paid registration last year and did smog them my car was rear ended bad and considered salvage, I fixed everything and it’s great but now I have to re-register it as salvage, do I need to do another smog? Even tho I did it last yr or just a brake and light inspection?

Did you honestly say that even if you did the repairs yourself you have to calculate how much you would have charged yourself for your labor hours so you can add this to the price of the vehicle so you can pay more taxes? So if I want to save money and do all the work myself as a hobby, I have to bill myself for my labor hours, so I can increase the price of the vehicle, so I can pay more to register it. LMAO k.

That's how it is worded on the form, but I think it means just add up all the cost of parts you purchased to restore the vehicle. If you had someone else install the parts then you'd have to include that as well, but DIY should save some of the tax/title reg fees

I just bought a Subaru wrx sti but it was salvaged however, everything was fixed. The only issue was it’s tuned by a Cobb access port and I’m not sure if it will pass smog

What would you need to do if the seller of the salvaged car does not have receipts of the repaired damages? DMV asked me to provide photos as well.

go to another DMV office, my DMV never ask for photo or repair receipts. CHP vin verification will need receipts, DMV vin verification don't ask for it.

vanessa moreno u get a salvage certificate so u can drive your car and get it inspected and get all the blessings. After u pass all the inspections the DMV issues you a salvaged title, then u are done.

@@ThanhNguyen-pm7xn That is not true, you will need to bring your salvaged title car to the dealer, and the mechanics will inspect the repair if it is up to the standard. If it does, then you can bring the certificate to DMV and change the title to Rebuild. With the rebuild title, it is equivalent to Clean title that you can register in all states. Note that some states are not allowed salvaged title car on the road whatsoever.

Also find a new inspector because they are dicks. Most of the guys are cool and will let you slide as long as you promise to fix the issue but your shop was real dicks. Ive never even had them check the brake life, Pads/rotors, that blew my mind . great video tho!

Dont buy a Kentucky red title vehicle (salvage/rebuilt) it is NOT transferable to any other state in the union. I found out the hard way.
