If anyone gets the 'No command' under the android bot upon recovery mode. Go into manual system update in setting, choose SD card (SD needed) and update from there. I did this and I proceeded with the above Tutorial. ;)

I can not find a working firmware for my MXQ Pro/Amlogic S905 (non 4k box) anywhere on the internet. Went to upgrade my tv box and flashed a UGOOS firmware thinking it would work but my box's WIFI and Ethernet do not work, so tried some other firmware's i came across only to suffer a black screen. Please, please, please does anyone have the correct firmware for my box they can point me in the right direction ?

I forgot toe erase everything before the installation of the SD card and did the rest of the installation but after the reboot the screen never came on it is all black and now I am stock with the black screen and i try to the it again but now doesn't do anything when i press the little bottom on the back still black like the HDMI cable is not connected! can someone tell me what I can do now? thanks

Sadly, I just cannot get past trying to get into recovery mode - the display only shows a logo saying S8060 or something like that - and I have held in that button soo long while adding the power. I'm guessing that I'm out of luck (and cannot fix it) since I can't find another solution. It was worth a try. Thanks Though :)

Why not just wipe user data/factory reset, wipe cache and then reboot box so it reinstalls software already in system partition? I don't get the SD card bit unless you have newer firmware.

Have down loaded the mxq file but when unzipped the Recovery.img is still being seen as a zip file and when I try to open or extract it I get error message saying winzip only supports img files that are in the iso format. Any ideas please.

Hi Zany, I have an android box, model MXQ with 4.4.2 android version which only let's me use Jarvis 16.1 (Kodi). What I do need is a way of upgrading the android system in the box from 4.4.2 to Android 5.0 or newer in order for me to be able to install Krypton 17 instead of Jarvis 16.1 . Is there a way I can upgrade the android system of the box to 5.0 or newer or do I have to buy a new box to solve this problem? Please help.

Might be a full hardware fail, if you cant boot into recovery, its a good sign that its given up on life.

Well what does it say on your media box. MXQ, MXS, MXQ 4k? we can work out what one you need after we have that info.

man, its hard to know. these boxes do go wrong a fair bit as they are cheap...... chances are you're better off picking another one up for £30 or just get yourself a raspberry pi and install the software yourself.. its pretty easy
