Great camera work. Love the overhead view when working on the carb(s). Look into JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screwdrivers. It will change your life working on metric fasteners (especially when dealing with old metric carb fasteners!) You will toss all your Phillips head screwdrivers after you start using JIS. There's a night and day difference in how a JIS screwdriver engages a JIS (metric) fastener vs. using a phillips head screwdriver on the same fastener.
@LNSPLTBLVD4 жыл бұрын
ooh thanks for the tip! Gonna look into them now
@WheeliePete4 жыл бұрын
@@LNSPLTBLVD Here's a good quick article on it: www.motorcycle.com/ask-mo-anything/difference-between-japanese-jis-phillips.html And if you can get them, the Vessel Megadora Impacta JIS screwdrivers are just awesome. They work like normal, but if you have a stuck fastener, just hit the back of them with a hammer and they have the impact 12 degree unscrewing function to help shock a frozen screw loose (looking at you old float bowl screws!). I have the #2 and #3 Impacta's and they are my absolute favorite screwdrivers of all time. I worked for years on Toyota trucks and metric bikes and for years thought the metric screws where just crap and stripped easily. Turns out they're just not designed to be used with a Phillips head screwdriver. As an added bonus the JIS screwdrivers also work fantastic in Phillips head screws. Basically, the gist of the thing is, Phillips head screwdrivers are designed to cam (slip) out of the hole at the right torque, which is supposed to help speed up assembly line process, but when it comes to old frozen hardware or needing to get it really tight, Phillips just fights you. JIS screwdrivers and screws are designed to hold the driver in the head and rely on the operator to know the correct torque.
