Thank you for the ingenious idea. I did this on my bucket pouch but I used suede that I bought at Hobby Lobby. Great idea! I even added a d ring on the other side

You can add a swivel D rivet to the bag but you would have to put a hole into the canvas on one of the sides

I guess it depends on what you plan on using it for. if for makeup items then yes, something that cleans up easily would be ideal. I usually use this for cash and cards so felt works fine for me
